Nice z28 (82-84) Hood at Pick N Pull waiting for U...
I saw today a real nice early model Z28 hood at Pick n Pull in Hammond on Indianapolis. I am no expert on the early model third gens but this one was very clean. White with red Louvers. This is the hood before the plastic louvers, more like the 1982 Pace Car style but not functional or fiberglass. This hood is metal. It is in the third row, all the way back when you first come in, walk straight to the end of the GM road and turn right. Third row second car in there it is sitting on top of a white Camaro. No tools needed as it has been removed. Today was half price day so it made it through that with no takers. I believe they want $50 (but don't quote me) which if I was looking for a hood I would consider this a steal.

place used to have 30+ third gens. then one day i went and there was none. Last time I Went, which was like 2 months ago, they had maybe 5-6 3rd gens. Waste of time nowdays. Starting to like the Speedway U-Pull it in Ford heights across from the Ford plant

I was at both today...Ford Heights had 3 thirdgens..2 Camaros 82-87 and 1 bird probably a 85...and Pick and Pull had 4 cars, 2 Camaros 84-88 and 2 Birds 82-85...both lots and all of the cars were picked to hell...my experience in going to Indiana, Ford Heights and Blue Island (U Pull It) is that our cars are a disappearing breed...that's why I thought I would mention the hood because it was in such good condition and it was kinda rare, etc...now if you are rebuilding a Pontiac Grand Prix (my son has one of these cars) there are almost 25-35 cars there or a Cadillac any year and there are 50 cars...in other words the pickin's are gettin' slim my friend...

Well I am in the process of getting extra stuff like I have 2 chin spoilers 92 style, 2 rear hatch moors, etc. Things that go poof I want an extra one for when demand exceed supply. I may even go back and get that hood on 1/2 price day if it is still there.
