Do I jump on this offer?

So today my Dad and I are sitting in the living room and he says to me, "Ya know, you should really consider selling your camaro." My response was "Hell no, why?" He then says he showed the pics I had of it to a buddy of his at work, and the guy said if I EVER sell it, to tell him first. So I say to my dad theres no way I would sell it b/c I have so much blood, sweat, and (well I don't cry) in it. "Alright tell him if he gives me 10 grand it's his." He calls him and the guy says ok. I have an offer of $10,000 cash on the table. Do I do it you guys? I'll try and get pics up soon if you already haven't seen my car but for those of you I met in Elmhurst, what should I do? Some of the specs are in my sig FYI. Later.

sell it as fast as you can if he really had the 10k and go buy another modded thirdgen, you can get a lot of car with less miles for that kind of coin.

Since it is an older guy and not a young kid, then I would consider it. Now its up to you and if you can let it go.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

I'd sell mine for half that (carbed 350 swapped into a 91 RS) and still be happy. For 10k you can buy a much nicer car. If you don't want to sell yours I'll drive mine up to him (central Indy) and sell him mine.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

Normally my car is not for sale but for $10,000 I would if I was you or if you don't want to - SELL. You can get what you have (or better) and still have some change.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

A guy at my work has a really nice 4th gen Z28 camaro for sell for 10k and it has low low miles. Only driven on sunny days and weekends, all ready has bmr S/F connectors and cold air intake. Also has chrome Zo6 rims plus the stock rims to. If I had the money I would be all over it.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

No doubt you take it because it's probably over double what the car is worth. So you sell your car for $10,000 go buy one in comparable condition for $5000 and have $5000 extra to play with. Of course, that all depends on whether he has the money, and the odds are he doesn't. I get offers on cars all the time but people showing up with the cash is a COMPLETELY different story!!! I can tell you I'll give you $20,000 for it but until I show up with the money it's all just

I wouldn't sell mine for that money at this point. I have too much into it to even want to start something new.

And it's not like these cars are hard to find. If you look hard enough, you can probably get one that's even better and perhaps not even have to remember that you sold the other one.

I have had people tell me how much mine is and I say it's not for sale, but if they were to actually give me a reasonable offer instead of asking then I would definitely consider it.

This is exactly the way I feel right now. I don't know if I could get rid of my baby, i'm too attached to it, i put way too much blood sweat and tears into this thing to let someone else enjoy all my hard work and glory. I'm still so undecided

In the end if you deside not to you are not really losing out since you still have a really great looking car.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

Well guys I got an update for you. The guy who offered me 10k has backed out because he just knocked up his girlfriend and can't buy another car, so I was quite depressed, but anyways I thought of another idea. So I threw up a craigslist ad saying I would trade my car for an LS1 car but I dont want a piece of trash or unfinished project, I've gotten quite a few offers but mostly LT1 cars and older cars, and then I got a few cash offers so what do you guys think I should do?

IMO if your thinking about trading this car its not your love....as a kid i always wanted one of these cars id gawk over pieces of crap "turd" gens....mine isnt anything pretty but its my baby its my hardwork research, vice, passion, and hobby i wouldnt trade mine for anything at all ever....some might laugh and no imm not a guru about cars by any means but one thing i do love is my third gen camaro.....its what i have and always will keep and some people dont understand that.find the car you truely go nuts over and wait all winter to get back into to drive again and hear it again like you lost your girl for like a couple months lol....bottom line find the car you like and want without a doubt if your thinking of trading yours then you might actually be happier with something else, and no not being an *** just saying how i feel towards mine....BTW im pullin the shifter out this weekend probably you still interested?

Now this I agree with. I love my cars so much I can't even bring myself to create any type of sale ad on Craigslist or ebay. Just the fact that you placed an ad means (IMHO) that maybe you want a different or better car. If I felt that way I would buy that different car but I would still keep the one I have already have blood, sweat, etc. in.

I do love my car you guys, trust me, the only reason I put the ad up is b/c its basically a feeler ad, see whats out there. Like I said before, the only way I would get rid of my car is if i get something ga-ga gorgeous like a modded LS1 car

Uh, actually there are tons of nice LS1 cars for well under 15k. Someone on the mfba just sold a black 99 ws6 car with 63k on it for like 9900. That is a deal.

Although i do not know if you car would hold its own weight in trading someone an LS1 car, unless someone really really want your exact car. Not bashing your car at all, i love it, just my opinion.

Just take a trade on a LT1 car, head and cam it, or drop an ls1 in there, its easy

How bout you don't insult my dad's friend, huh? This guy is a very good person and for you to call him a hillbilly insults not only him, but me as well. Perhaps because you haven't had the opportunity to knock up your g/f is the reason you would take a shot at him. Who knows? The reason I didn't jump on it initially is because I am so attached to this car, and I had to thoroughly think all of it over, and besides what if I made the deal, Then that guy would have been miserable because he would have been stuck with a car that doesn't fit his needs. Anyways I've got a guy coming out this weekend with 8500 and seems legit. Keep those of you interested posted, and Anthony, please go away, I don't need any of your childish comebacks either. Thanks.

Re: Do I jump on this offer?

heck I would sell my ls1 thirdgen for that with out a second thought. but I have to say I really am not into these cars anymore so that's why.

years ago there was no way I would I mean I don't see ls1 thirdgens often and most look like a backyard job with tape and scotch locks (if you really look) I know i'm saying mines better and maybe it's just me but I feel Ive seen enough to say mine is in the upper end of clean installs
