What is Thirdgen Fest '04?
Hey everyone,
I'm sure a lot of people are wondering what Thirdgen Fest '04 is, so here is some info on it.
It started on Memorial Day, 2002. Denny (LFN AT U) invited us from the NW Indiana/ South Chicago Suburbs to get together at his house. We briefly planned the event, but due to poor weather, only about 10 cars showed up. But we all wanted to to it again the next year. So the next year we started planning much sooner, and we had a total of about 50 cars show up. People came and went, and the most at one time was somewhere around 35 thirdgens! Denny figured that was pretty good for the second year, so this year he wants to make it bigger than ever.
The gathering will be on May 29th, 2004 at Denny's house in Crete, IL. It will start at around 11:00 a.m. and go throughout the day. Crete is about 40 minutes south of Chicago. There is no cost to attend and food and drink will be served. Denny will be holding a raffle for a B4C Camaro. That will be optional, at a cost of $50 per ticket. $50 is a pretty good price for a B4C Camaro.
This board was created to get all members' input on the event. Any ideas for events and suggestions can be shared and hopefully this will be one big thirdgen gathering.
A website with all the info is in the works.
So feel free to post any ideas, comments, suggestions, and questions you may have. Be sure to check back, as info will be updated often. Thanks.
Andy

I'm thinking of maybe making nats in July now, so people that want to go to both events can have a little break.
I'd like to come, but I'm not sure when finals are, and how my mpg will be once I get a th350, lol.

Yeah, I like it too. I probably should have thought of it sooner. I've had another huge party every summer since '99 called Dennyfest so I just figured I'd stick with the whole 'fest name.

We need to get Denny's address and location and possible map(yahoo, mapquest, etc) so people have an idea of where other than crete IL . Also helpful for folks who may be staying in the area nite or two. Denny? Post us your addy or make a post here yourself for it with your address . Then maybe people can actually start figuring out where they are going ! lol

I already PMed Denny about having a link to mapquest with his address in it so people could just put in their address and hit "map to address" and get a map and directions directly to his house. I didn't put the link up cause I didn't know if he wanted his address up yet, so I'll let him make the call.

I like the name too, it reminds me of Summer Fest, German Fest, Irish Fest , Polish Fest.... and all the other fests we have here in Milwaukee.

I'm in if I can get my Camaro rebuilt, ready and dependable for that three hour trip. How big is this guy's house? Can I bring friends?

Sure, you can bring friends. The party is for thirdgen cars only though. I'll be setting up a RSVP post in April so I can get a good idea of how many people will be coming.

So when are the dates for these events? I will go to all of them (if I'm invited?) I just need to know when they are. I do have a third gen so I guess i am. It's not much yet but I just got it and want to see others so I can get some ideas of where I want to go with it. Hook me up with some dates. Hell I am even willing to go to Milwaukee to hook up. We should all meet @ the brewing plant! (sorry thats just the irish in me!)
