Thrash to finish by Third Gen Fest'05
Who else is doing major work to their car to have it ready by Third Gen Fest?
Mine is completely blown apart right now. It's at Jay's house for body/paint work and currently has no engine/trans/interior & all the body panels are removed. Jay is welding my flush Grand Prix doorhandles into the doors and I'll have to figure out how to make them work with the stock internals.
I'm sending my headers and intake out to be coated, and I'm repainting the engine and trans black. I've got to re-polish the aluminum valve covers & install all new aluminum pulleys. Once I re-install the engine/trans, I've got to get the exhaust re-done, install my Eibach springs, wonderbar, adj. panhard bar (and all the other suspension stuff I haven't bought yet). I'm got to re-do all the brakes front and rear. Oh, yeah- and install an interior in the thing. And a stereo. And all new GM weatherstripping. Oh jeez- how many days are left?

Geez! And, I'm worried about getting the 'Vette wheels on the 'Formy and detailing both cars by then!
BTW, the hardest part of this whole thing will be getting my wife to drive one of the cars there. I'd like to bring them both, but, she's afraid to drive them 'cuz first of all, even though you and I know lightly modded 305's are not fast, she's overwhelmed by them. And, secondly, she's afraid if she puts a scratch on one of them, I'd kill her. Which is probably true!
Oh, well! I'll get it figured out!

Im plan on redoing my interior and some general clean up. Just looking around for deals on carpet and the like.
Im also replacing some floor pan sections and cleaning up the engine compartment as well.
In general, its a 20 foot car. But I dont think its all that bad for my first attemmpt. Heck a lot of my ideas for this year came from TGF04.

Lets see things I have to do: Install new fuel pump, Holley AFPR, some chip tuning(gotta buy the autoprom yet) Finish the windshild wipers(redesigned using 4th gen motor located in the vent space)
Things I want to get done: Box the LCAs, Build/Install SFCs, Pull the engine and repaint it, Repolish/paint the TPI parts, Fix up some interior stuff....
One way or another it will be there this year, just a matter of how good it will look and how well it will be running.

Ive got quite a bit of work to do to mine. I'm replacing both fenders and both doors. They're not too bad, but Id like to have ones that are cleaner and in better shape. Then I have a lot of body work to do, and paint and that's probably all Ill do before the fest. I may not even finish that, who knows.

Well, lets see.. I need to strip down->body filler in small door dings->epoxy->primer->bascoat->clearcoat->wetsand->buff...
Plus i need to put my 3.73s in.. tho maybe putting that off because of the drive.. I may wanna save some fuel. I also have no interior besides my dash and the driver's seat... and im not gonna have the money to replace it by the end of May. I prolly will just have to keep the crappy old weather stipping too, because i wont have the money (I did at one point, but my dad recently got ill, so im lending him some money). Im hoping to get the paint done, pull the engine to clean it and repaint the engine bay/redo the engine wiring... plus i hope i can get a new radiator in, because mine SUX!.. lol, otherwise, i will show up in a badly chipped IROC, with one QP spraypainted (just to seal it, had some cancer fixed)... So i will be the worst looking thirdgen.. lol

Well I got my fuel pump in(did the back door, or access panel way), got the AFPR on, and replaced the egr, but now I realize I need some new injectors. So those should be going in this weekend.
Its running better than it has in a long time, but it could still be better.

Working on TTA during the week since I need to rewoire and swap a couple parts to refit the ecm I am going to be running on the car.
While I am doing this, the formula is leaving t-nite to have slp do the exhaust work from headers to the catback.
I'm almost there lol almost being operative lol

mine's going in for paint this thursday. That leaves Jay and me 3 weeks to finish it up. Did I mention i'm going to aruba for a week so i won't even be around. I really owe him for that. I'll be there in primer or paint either way.

TTA up and running, still needs more break in miles and more tuning but is good to go as is :-)
Formula starts and runs, verified and retorqued everything and rebled the brakes....
Still has to get aligned and ran thru emissions and yet more tuning on new combo number 2 for the year :-)
