I was just thinking about this the other day. Can't wait to get the car out again and head down there.
xpndbl3 - for the record I was robbed on that Modified Camaro Award last year, I think you beat me by 1 vote. I was pushing for a recount being that less than %50 of your car was there, lol. Oh well hopefully I will do better this year.

not to start a fight but i won by 16 votes actually. there was a large margin because i was talking to denny about it when everyone left for the cruise....didn't think that the cops would like no plates, insurance, doors, fenders, hood, seatbelts, etc etc.
this year i'll have a new motor combo hopefully and the car is all complete and painted so i can't wait to see if this year is a repeat. Just don't forget me on best restoration as well.

The Camaro is the only long distance reliable vehicle i have, i don't trust my S10 to get me that far, so i really need the camaro done bodywise, which will be close but im gonna push to try and make it.

try routing them away from manifolds or heat using .79 zip ties from a home depot type store. otherwise quality wrap is around $80 alone not counting wires

Couple of things:
First of all, any idea how far a drive (time wise) that's gonna be from Cuba City/Galena. My parents live there and I figured I'd head there Thursday night, so as to not make the journey completely insufferable (no stereo as of yet to replace the stolen on, though hopefully there'll be one by then). Also, is the cruise just a general camaro thing or mainly for the really nice ones. I mean, mine's not trash, but it is mostly original and the interior leaves a little something to be redone. The exterior, for original, is pretty nice though. Typical problems starting to go though - small rust above the rear wheels. Limited though which is part of the reason I bought this thing. Starting to crack off above the driver's side front wheel...etc.
Oh, and anyone with any ideas on how to get tint and a bowtie off of the rear window without ruining the rear defrost would be nice. I wouldn't have such a problem with it but the tint was done badly and is bubbling off (genius of a red neck that had her before me) and the bowtie is starting to peel.
But I mean, this'll be my last chance to go to a car show up here before I head to Kansas for training, then it's off to Texas for a duty post, so I really want to make it.
That's snow on the hood, not peeling.

anyone can go on the cruise, and anyone can show up, even if your car doesn't make it, as long as you are a third gen owner you can come. there were some really nice cars last year and some ones that have seen better days, but everyone there love our cars and enjoys meeting others that share the same enthusiasism (sp?) as for the drive from galena i am not sure, but is that is anywhere south of chicago it wont be too bad, you get to miss all the city traffic

Galena's in the northwest corner of Il. So I'm assuming I can probably cut east and south to avoid driving in Chicago. Chicago drivers are worse than Milwaukee and Dallas-Ft. Worth drivers combined I swear.

If I did it all in one shot I'd be looking at -at least- a 9 hour neighborhood drive.
Which is why I'm doing it in stages.
