Cruise issues?

Was thinking about the cruise last year.

Was a complete #$%@#$%@^@$^@%^@%^.

It went from everyone there, to half the people leaving and the other half going " what the hell is going on?"

The local spots for Fri and Sat nite wont really have anyone there until 7:30-8, maybe a little bit later.

I am thinking Ohara's on 45th in Highland(due north 41, turn right on 45th)

and the strip mall in Dyer on 30.

Wouldnt it make a little more sense to:

A) Move the time back to a little later in the evening

B) Pick the primary and secondary locations so everyone is on the same page, no matter when they actually leave to go to the cruise spot?(logic would be strip mall in dyer first and depending on turnout head to Ohara's)(or possible Blue top if anything is going on there)

C) At a minimum get some directions from Dennys to the cruise location(wasnt sure if they were any last year or not?)

Just a couple suggestions, take them for what they are worth.

Just seems to make more sense to me, if we all can go out to one of the local cruise spots and take over a majority of it with thirdgens while still getting to check out some other iron at the same time.

Just got a kick about seeing the "cruise" and it was only thirdgens in a parking lot of nothing else lol

I have to agree, the cruise was pretty much a big cluster fuch. But only because there was really nobody organizing it. I know Denny was busy cleaning up and stuff so he didn't have time for it so one of the local guys should have helped out with it.

A simple yahoo map with a few spots on it would help alot. I just did the follow the pack of camaros and I know there were people following me even though I didnt have a clue where I was going.

The cruise was basically set up last year by what most people on the Chicago suburb board wanted. I was going to do the same thing again this year. I felt that 6:00 was a little too early myself but that's what most people wanted. I think 7:00 would be a better start time myself. We did have directions for the cruise last year and I know most people got them. This year, the cruise directions will probably be included with the registration packs.

I'll be setting up a post on the NW Indiana/Chicago suburb board soon to let people decide what they want to do for the cruise this year.

Cool Denny,

Wasnt bashig ya, just throwing out some suggestions, especially with construction and the total relocation of the places to cruise to around here in the last year kinda made a mess of things in a way.

Let me know if u need addresses or some help on the maps or bounce it to me thru Nick, and I'll go get them all.

Planning on collecting traffic info to for all the wonderful road closure occurences and 3 lanes where 10 were prior :-)

I'll get that set up a little closer to the Fest though

Failing to plan is like planing to fail

We just need a decent map and to drive together. Remember there are always people that have no clue because they are not from the area. Every year(and I have been to all of them) someone says"Let's go" and then half the people jump in cars and speed off while the other half go "WTF just happened" then they jump in their cars and try to catch up. Last year we went to a dead spot after driving for a long time down winding roads.

We need a cruise director. Is that cutegirl from Love Boat available?
