DIY PROM Tuning
Not sure if anyone else thats coming to the fest is into PROM tuning but I am planning on bringing my stuff (laptop, autoprom....) I though it would be a good chance to get together with other people and learn some more about it. Im very new to it still so Im eager to talk with anyone else that has gotten into it to see if there is anything I am missing.

I'm always willing to.
I'm not going to spend the day doing it however :-)
I'm sure there are more of us.

Oh yeah I don't plan on spending the day programing my car or anyone elses. I was thinking more along the lines of tips and tricks or things that people have figured out that might not be comon knowledge.

Its very responsive, runs strong and will probably be fine for this drive with the stock prom but i just dont like doing things half ***. I havent driven the car since i took it out. Dont get me wrong, Bill at SPEEDTRONICS is a great guy and is taking care of me... its just bad timing regarding where I want to be when I go to the fest.
BTW Jeremy... bring the tailights and I will give you the cash for them at the fest.
See you there one way or another.

What did you do? Did you ask for a refund? I am curious why you started resoldering it. Was this per a request from Bill that you try to resolder?

Basically, it just never worked like it was supposed to, and believe me the solders were checked many mny times. So, I dont really know what the problem was.

Okay I'm bringing my gear.
Now I'm not gonna say I said so, but the best tuning philosophy from PROM tuining is : "Keep it simple stupid = KISS"
Get a burner and do it one chip at a time, especially when you are new.
One thing at a time, lots of notes and then another change.
Too many people get caught up in real time or bin flipping and dont get inot the nitty grity nasty stuff like figuring something else out thats wrong ro not a defined parameter and not ficking the code etc.
Burners usually dont break too often and if u do one change at a time it makes it simpler.
I will advocate Racuhers EBL, he makes a good design and has some serioulsy great idears.

First one I switched to an 89 bin for an L98 Auto car with the same gears as mine. and the 6E code. I turned off all the Torque converter stuff and turned on the manual trans flag.
Chip 2 I used the compare feature to find some more things that needed to be switched for the manual trans.
Chip 3 used the methods from one of the stickies to turn off the EGR.
Thats what Im running now, I havent started messing with anything else yet, I just wanted to get it running without codes before I started messing with anything else.
