Parking / Grouping Ideas!!!

Here is an idea:

Break up the parking area, Firebirds in one section and Camaros in the other.

Then take the Firebird section and break them up into groups, GTA's, Formula's, Trans Am's, etc...

Then take the Camaro section and break them up into groups, Z28's, Iroc-Z's, RS's, etc..

any comments on this idea?

I like the idea, but it would be tough to manage. No one will really know FOR SURE how many of each variant will show up in advance.

that's what I was thinking, but we can do it to our best if everyone thinksit's a good idea.

For the setting up, we are allowed to setup 1 day prior to the event, so me and who ever else that shows up on Friday, that would like to help, can come to the fairgrounds with me and maybe mark off spots , like I'll assign everyone a # or something. and mark the spots that way.

I was thinking about that but I was thinking about going one step futher...

example- GTA's, Formula's, Trans Am's, and then.......all Pontiacs that have power adders...nos..turbo/supercharger. Same thing for Chevy's

I figure theres gonna be at LEAST a handfull of cars that gonna be "organ donors"... why not put them in a separate spot where EVERYBODY can find them without a problem. Just my $.02.

Later..

thats a good idea also, however, i would like to see all Formula's together no matter whats done to them, and then spread out and look at the other cars!! all in groups no matter what's done, that would be the easiest and best way i think.

I would prefer all Formulas, IROC's, etc. to be together, regardless of mods.

variety spices the show up and keeps an even flow of people throughout.

if you get 100 people and split chevy and pontiac up chances are one area will have more attention than another.

that's like putting all the 91-92's in a group and the earlier sc's together. where do you think people will spend the most time?

diversification makes for a good show.......gives people who are just starting out a chance to get their cars noticed.

I think it's a bad idea. Like for me anyway. I have a formula with T/A effects and some Z28 parts. The die hard formula guys would stare me down for putting T/A effects on and the T/A guys would call me a poser. Forget hangin with the Z's.

If you really want to group it, do it by state/reigon. It'll probably turn out that way because people will be caravaning out there.

I'd rather still just go with the first come first serve idea. When you get there, you get parking. ^_^ Just make sure there is enough spots for everyone.

yeah, if you start to group people together, u'r drawing a line..
kinda like "the bad side of the town" mentality..
i love seeing people's progress and in complete cars.. but.. most people will probably just head over to the sparkly cars and then to the beer tent or something, ya know?
then some people will feel outcasted and like they shouldn't be there..
anyways..
just my thoughts..

first come, first serve............line them up as you go.

no need for any other way. what kind of lot is this place terrain wise? with cars coming and going i assume there will be alot of dust and dirt thrown about if it's a park right?

probably best to make lanes to drive in and out so that you don't have chaos all over and peoples cars tend to stay a little clean.

Depends on the Voting and Awards --->

Dosn't anyone think the cars should simply be grouped in thier "catagory" ?!?!?!??

Make that the main "separation" point and from there the owners of similar cars will naturally group together. Once people know what area to park in they shouldn't have a problem locating a good spot for thier ride !!!!!!!

what point does that bring...........you isolate people in essence don't you think?

would that mean that i would be in my own class all by myself if no one else showed up with a car like mine?

what if 30 cars showed up identical to mine.....would that make it more or less appealing to wonder through?

variety is better, easier to control. i understand your idea but it isn't that easy and often leaves people out.

by all means you guys should run this how you like, however i know that not everyone will arrive at the same time making it very difficult to pull off right. i for one don't want to be "stuck" in a segment all by myself or surrounded by indentical cars. when i show up i plan to park where ever there is a nice open space that i like....

Camaro's to the laft and FireBirds to the right....... If you want to park with me on the hill - Go ahead, feel welcome to !

Or,

You can park with cars "similar" to your own so that voters can get a good look at all the cars in the class.

That's my train of thought,............. not to isolate anyone !! Hell- I'm the "outcast" by driving a Berlinetta !! I love a variety as well as anyone, but I would rather not see a "free for all" !!!!!!

P.S. There will not be many awards granted, so I'm sure you are not be forced into a " in a class by youself "

i was just giving an example...........do a quick head count and draw up how it would be..

you would have a huge section of "street" cars and just a few outsiders of stock to wild.

it's not that i don't like the idea....i just think it brings unnecessary complications that's all.

IBTL ,LMAO

No need to talk anymore after Kandied brought up some good points earlier, parking will be first come first served, but there will be plenty of spots.

There is a paved road in/out and around the fairgrounds, but we will be parked on a grassy area.
