First time at the track

I ran at Byron Dragway in 89 deg weather. How do these numbers look to you?

R/T -----.983
60' -----2.087
330 -----5.986
1/8 -----9.218
mph -----77.08
1000 -----12.032
1/4 -----14.408
mph -----94.90

I was extremely consistent through all 6 races with only my R/T improving on the last race with .775
How can I improve these numbers? Are they any good?

I have 3.23's with kumho ecsta's in the rear and the mods in my sig.

If your willing to be civil, I'd say that was a damn good run, especially in that hot weather. You can probably knock off another couple of tenths on a cooler day. From there you should look into a higher duration and lift cam. That will probably drop you down into the high 13s. I'm not a TPI guy so I can't spec out a cam that won't freak out the computer.

I always like to start with a good base, so my first question would be about any chassis mods you've done. A good set of LCAs, relocation brackets, and frame ties will cut into that 60 pretty good. Once you get into the deep 13s consistently on street tires there won't be many people that can touch you on the street.

Thanks for the good news. My goal is 13's and 100+ by the end of the season.
ATO - I'll be looking into the chassis mods you mentioned

I will not say weather

89 out side. Thats not hot. try talking racing in 100plus weather that's a liltle hot. you should be able to tell for sure if it feels like it is heat pooring your performance. As your numbers seems like as of right now you put out what you got. Just Stock. I was also going to consider your 1st time out at the track, you could do better next time around and even do better. But 1st off get some exhaust going. then if the motor needs performance attn go there, most people go exhaust not even complete full exhaust as not most of us get it all considering headers are over 500 bucks for the ones for our cars. You will know what to do, just have the correct combo's.

I was there sunday. got there around 9 and left about 1. After 12 they started their bracket racing or whatever it was and that was slowing all us T&Tr's down.

500 for headers???? is that the price for the hooker super comp? wouldn't hooker competition's fit fine? they are much cheaper.

Just a little info for you this is in a river valley in IL in the middle of July. The air temp is 89, but with 80%+ humidity, makes 100+ dry air easy to run in. I watch the braket racers loose .4-.5 in that air, and they tune there car accordingly. Cooler temps in September will be lower 14's for you.

Yeah. I was there with a couple of friends. 1 with a 92 turbo awd talon and the other with a lightning. They both lost ~.6. The buddy with the talon was able to get it back with the 116 or 118 octane fuel they have. Too bad I had a full tank of premium
