What'll it run...First time to track
Hey guys, I'm going to the track in Sacramento for the first time this weekend and I was wondering what kind of times I should expect from my car.
I have an '89 GTA...355, rebuilt 18,000 mi ago with Crane Compucam, 1.6 rockers (total lift is .495/.50), a little higher compression (can't remember exactly but it's a little higher than stock), and AFR 190's. The intake is still basically stock (yeah I know that's choking my engine almost to death, but I ran outa money and I wanted to upgrade the engine while it was out of the car). I just have a K&N, and an airfoil. The exhaust consists of stock manifolds, dual catco cats, and SLP catback. Oh, and I have an afpr set at 48psi. The tranny is a recently rebuilt 700R4 w/ transgo shift kit. I think the converter is stock too. Rear is stock 3.27 borg warner.
I'm getting ready to upgrade the intake and just want to see what it'll run before and after. Anyone have any ideas where I should be shifting (manually) and what times I might expect? Low 14, maybe a high 13 with traction?? Faster, Slower? eh?
Thanks

Yeah, I would think there would be no way I could only expect high 14's...I've heard of people getting high 14's stock. Thanks to the two of ya for the replies.
