Well my first time to the track...
Well my first time to the track...
Today i made it too the track and made 2 runs. i only got 1 time trial run becuz there was at least 550 and up cars there at englishtown for the Imports vs Domistics. my first run i was nevous as hell. but before that my brother told me to do a burnout becuz when he ran in the class before me he spun really bad but anyway after i got up to the burnout box the car ahead of me dumped water or something on the track and that was mopped up but i did a small burnout not too big and after i staged , i accedently staged alittle deep but oh well its my frist time. i brake tourqed it to about 1,200 rpms and then launched and spun not so bad but it killed my time. first time was 17.8 with a reaction time of .927.
the second run was an elimination run since there was so many cars no one got another time trial run. but since i was in class 2 which was 15.99 to i think 14's i had to dial in on a 15.99 and wasnt too sure about it. but after i got up there did a longer burnout and my reaction timed sucked it was a 1.07 i think and i got a better et by makin it to a 16.00 and the first run i lost becuz i didnt know were exzactly the finish line was so i let off a bit and this monty carlo bet me with a slower et and the second run i was racing a Acura something 4door but it looked like a 2000 model and that beat me in the elimination run with a 16.24.
so far it was a great experience, cant wait till spring time when i go back again and hope to do a hell of alot better. but i think if i had another time trial run i would have done alittle better. oh well still had fun.......oh yeah alot of imports broke alot of parts from trannys to halfshafts and only one american car broke something and it was a new corvette, dunno what he broke but he did something bad.

Told ya u'd have fun. It's even worse when your at nationals and that morning they call over the intercom-"we are not having time runs, going straight to eliminations." But, after you've been in the car all season you should have a pretty good idea what WTF is going on anyway, for a dail. Once u can achieve traction, most cars run pretty consistent as long as u do EVERYTHING the same each pass. Once u figure out "the game" at the big end and can master the R/T you'll be putting money in your pocket in no time at all. The first night time street race I attended this year I knocked down 250 cars and took first palce-mostly cause the kids did'nt leave until the light was frickin green and plus did'nt have a clue on how to dail. Took home 1st 2 out of the 3 night street races I attended. Red lit in the second race cause our announcer was telling the kids/crowd to watch when I leave to better understand the last yellow and R/T thing-pushed too hard with a .478 or .487 can't remember red light-too much pressure I guess.
all i know is that i cant wait till the spring time when the track opens again (track closes on the 17th) and one thing i hate about goin there is the trip down there becuz of the rear u have to drive thru and the ******* dirvers. i think once i get my car goin fast like 11's or better ill be trailering it in.
but i had fun in the end. cant wait to get all suspention done this winter and some headers and the rear end swap.

Sucked in another one-wish we had more like you where i'm from. All I want is enough mods to step up and race super pro/no box, honestly the tracks "cater" to Super Pro's cause they're the ones paying big money and helping keep the track running, not the entries of $15 trophy cars or $25 street/sportsman cars-at least at MY home track anyway. All I need to do is get into the 12's then I can shut down the "big guys" sure it's gonna cost me $150/weekend instead of $50-70 but the pay back is huge. Instead of bringing home $200 for winning street, you bring home $1000 for Super Pro/no box. As long as the car stays running like it does (consistency wise) I don't see that being a problem for next season cause my lights are every bit as good as theirs and most of the gamblers I ran against them I tree the **** out of em. One whiner from Super Pro stopped the race so Tech could search my car for a delay box, then felt like an *** when they could'nt find one(don't have one) then later I stopped by his pit and showed off my slips for the day to prove my R/T's & consistency and his reply was "boy, your racing the wrong class" Once you get bit, it's like a drug. An expensive one at that!

The first time I went was about a year and a half ago,I just wanted to see what my car would run.The first run was like a 15.5 with a r/t of about 1.237
That was all it took,I started doing little mods here and there and going back just about every weekend. My friend runs a super-pro Camaro so that was even more incentive to go,there were plenty of times I went "just to watch"and ended up racing everytime! My best so far is a 14.4,my best r/t is a .503.Right now I am doing a cam swap, installing headers,AFPR,losing the AIR pump and doing some minor plenum porting.I cant wait to get back out there!

The last race of the year was a bummer, cause I knew it'd be a loong winter. But I guess it's a much needed break since nothing got done around the house cause I was gone every weekend.
