question about headers and improvement...

I was just wondering where i should be with headers my best time so far is 15.2@89mph..I have a 350 that is basically stock but it still has the lg4 manifolds y pipe and exhaust...Im thinking mid 14s isnt out of the question with headers y pipe and hopefully a cutout..let me know what you guys think, i need my car in the low-mid 14s by the 24th

yeah i say once you get a free flowing exhaust you should be well in the 14s!! especially with a 5 speed tranny..

You say you have a basicly stock 350. If that 350 is an L98, that is a bad trap speed. Do you know what cam and heads you are running?
EDIT: I just saw you were running stock LG4 exhaust, you were right, you definately need full exhaust. The exhaust on the LG4 is a hugh restriction for it, imagine what it is on a 350.

no its not an l98, its a early 70s block that was rebuilt almost totally stock, i dont know the cam specs but i know its pretty close to stock, it still has all the emissions crap and the car was originally a 305 lg4 car which is very crappy, i got the 350 in and was broke so it still has the 305 manifolds and exhaust, I ordered my headers the other day and they will be in tomorrow, i got the edelbrock tes headers and y pipe, ill get them put in sunday along with my new tranny, damn its gonna be a busy day, and then this coming friday im going to the track so ill find out how big a difference they really make...
