spinning the slicks
help went playing last night and ran a s-10 w/ 383 and 150 shot , i did a 15 to 20' burnout to warm them up . on my run i left tire marks through 1st , 2nd , and 3rd . and it felt (and looked ) LOOSE almost sideways in third . luckly i still won the race
but what do i do to hook up ? i have spohn lower arms , relocation brackets at the bottom holes, panard rod, torq arm and pinion angle is set at -2 degrees. 15x8 centerlines and m-t et streets set at 17 psi . i stayed in my lane but holy s*** what a handful to drive . my bottle press. was down at 800 when i ran (no heater yet) and the 250 jets in (the smallest that came with the kit) so it is still going to get stronger . i live a 4800' eleavation ,it was 60* last night and last week i ran a 11.58 at 129.2 on my g-tech pro comp.
do i just need more tire?
thanks

If it's loose by the time you get into third, it's not a car problem but something has made the track slippery.
You can have a perfect setup and still slip and slide anywhere on the track.
Where were you racing? Silverwood or Spokane?

i plan on it .but (that fateful word) i still need to finish getting steel braided hoses on all the NOS fuel system. i think that is the main thing that will keep me from going through tech. also the closest track is 225 miles away in salt lake city , or anaconda montana . and i dont have a truck to haul it any where . i know a trailer i can barrow but not a truck . when do you need the 5 point harness and sfi approved stuff? i dont think the shoulder belts will work w/ stock high backs.

11.99 and quicker you need a single layer fire jacket, 5 point harness (dated coded and only good for 2 years), roll bar, tubeless tires need metal screw-in valve stems plus all the other normal safety equipment such as driveshaft loop, helmet etc.

your tires are made to provide traction on a concrete pad at the track....while stickier than normal tires on asphalt, they will provide their bast traction on a properly perpared concrete pad that you will find at a track......street traction is usually not a good indicator of track traction

well i turned the pinion angle to -4 degrees and took the tires down to 15 psi and went to play sat. nite found a 65 chevelle with a 396 and a 871 blower and nos to play with . had not tried a start with the adjustments done . took it to 4000 and dumped it and it hooked and BOGGED. it thought oh s**t and and went for the nos was staying with him until he let off around just past 1/2 way . wow i hooked for the first time, it feels a lot better now may try 1 more degree but it helped a lot!

pinion angle plays a big role there, mine is set at -4 degrees....so around that will work well on the street
