Traction? what traction?
Old best time:
14.46 @ 93.36 mph (1.98 60')
add AS&M SS runners, accel intake, and PROM tuning...
14.71 @ 94.82 mph (2.34 60')
14.78 @ 95.39 mph (2.37 60')
60 ft times went to hell. I can no longer get the car off the line...can't even floor it until after i see the 60' time light on the boards. ouch!
Guess it's time for LCA relocation brackets from spohn.
Any good suggestions for a non-drag radial yet good traction tire? f1 gs-d3? re750? dunlop sport 8000? sz50's?

My converter will stall to 5700 on the transbrake and I can hold the car with the footbrake to 3500. I only launch at 2500 rpm because if I don't I just spin off the line.
The lower launch rpm with a higher stall converter won't shock the tires so much because it allows the converter to flash.
Stock Eliminator cars are not allowed to use transbrakes but many have converters that stall close to 6000 rpm. Many launch at an idle or below 3000 rpm for the same reasons.
You might also have traction problems just from track prep. All the traction aids available won't help if the starting line is slippery.

I'm launching from .... idle. It's a 2400rpm stall. Did I mention that the tires I have (yoko s306) are touring radials that don't get much traction?
Before I did the intake mods, I used to be able to go to 1/2 throttle, wait a split second or two, then nail it, and the tires would chirp and then we'd hook. Now, they just instantly break loose and spin through all of 1st gear no matter what I do... if I launch at idle, go to 1/2 throttle, wait a sec, then nail it, rpm goes straight to 5000 and we get sideways. While it's fun, my worst 60' of the night was a 2.69.. ouch!
I wonder if the tires i have, have dried out or gotten harder since last year. on average (over several runs), my MPH is only 1.5 higher, so i figure i've added maybe 10 HP. shoudln't be enough to throw the traction into chaos.
The track crew keeps the starting line prepped. Plenty of cars lifting the front tires...there was a sharp 68 or 69 camaro running 10's all night, a lightning running in (if i remember correctly) the 13's or 12's, and several 9 second cars (i guess bracket racing cars, they were all running 9.00xx type times). Lots of guys were running 1.5' 60's, in fact I think I was the slowest 60' of the day.
