First Time Out
Well got to Indianapolis Raceway Park tonight. Saw probably a dozen or so f-bodies, everything from 1st gen to 4th gen.
OK... can't say that I'm disappointed or surprised with my times. It is a very stock, LG4 motor.
Only ran twice, my lifter noise got much louder on the second pass and I didn't want to blow anything the first night out.
1st pass - left at 1250RPM
R/T .560
60' 2.447
330 7.062
1/8 10.849 @ 65.34
1/4 16.826 @ 81.93
2nd pass - left at 1500RPM
R/T .178
60' 2.434
330 7.080
1/8 10.906 @ 64.62
1/4 16.945 @ 81.14
So that figures to around 148 HP at the rear wheels (estimated weight of 3550)
Now I don't know why the 2nd pass was better off the line and at 60' but came in with a higher final ET/MPH
The trans was shifting into 3rd maybe a 100' before the traps, so the RPM were coming down. Off the line power seemed fine. Gear shifts were pretty lazy, was letting it shift by itself.

How's it going? How were the thirdgens run'n? I'm from Indy too, but I haven't been to the track in about a month. I was going to go today, but I was too busy loading my nice blown-up 383 into the Suburban tonight. I also put my Snypers on the 91. Maybe we can meet at the track some time when I get my car running. Later.

The one Firebird I saw run was in the low 14's. Most of the time I was sitting in my car waiting to run.
Yeah, I was thinking maybe some of the Indy guys would like to meet up before going to IRP. Show up in force.
I'll have to get the lifters changed in my 'Bird first. But I have to get the brakes in my wifes Skylark done and put a CD changer in so she'll stop bugging me.
