i have a 86 trans am with 96 impala 305 (carb'd) with dual exaust and TH400R tranny.... everything else is stock so prolly high sixteens?

 

didn't know the 96 impala came with a 305 i thought it was a 350 lt1 motor??????????

i'm not sure what rear i have...how would i go about finding out which one i have?

 

Does your tach work and is it accurate. If so, tell us what RPM your engine is at at a given speed (ie. 60 mph) and give us the height of your tires (ie. 26" or 28"). There are math formulas to derive gear ratios from this information.

Also, are you sure about the 96 Impala engine. Who told you that you have this. Did you put it in the car or did you buy it like this?
