Felt good to be back at the track. The car ran a 14.0 @96.xx MPH. A 13.9 at 98.xx mph. The last run was my best....

1000' - 11.245
1/4 - 13.427 @ 103.31 MPH

I opened the headers for the last run, lost my belt for the water pump and alt. (flew off 2nd run) and changed from about a 26.5" tall tire to a 25.5 tall slicks on alum. rims (much lighter).

Anyone know if this sounds right??? I am thinking I sould be able to hit the 12s but I just cant see to.

Traction was good, car pulled strong up to 5500 RPM where I shifted. All the shifts felt good. I just think it sould be better.....

I was leaving the line at 1000 rpm... I need to find a different converter!!!

 

Looks like you need more converter. Are you bogging off the line? That mph is pretty borderline for high 12's... You should be AT LEAST 1.8X'ing

 

No bog what so ever... The traction was 100% that last run.

 

At the end of last year I was hitting 106.xx at 13.54 with wheel spin and with the carb to lean. I switched carbs and now I got this.

I am wondering if timing is the issue. It is only set by ear but it starts great and suns strong. Pulls hard off the line and I can wind it to 7k easy. I cant set the timing because the tab or it is off the 305 motor and the balancer is the 350 one. I go to get it and it is like 40* just at idle.... Need to get timing tape of something.
