tips for consistency?
looking to get some tips on being a little more consistent. The car is all over the place in terms of e.t., but the 60ft's are all close.
1.88 60ft., 14.72 92.9mph 99*f
1.89 14.90 89.5mph 98*f
1.84 14.6 92.24 mph 94*f
1.87 14.67 92.09mph 90*f
1.87 14.72 92.05mph 88*f
humidity stayed pretty much the same all night. any ideas on why the car is all over the place?

Throw out run 2 since something happened on that run to make it really slow.
Between 14.6 and 14.72 is pretty consistant. There are too many variables that can effect those times. A slight head wind, shifting a couple of hundred rpm different, tire pressure changing during the day. Every time you make a pass, the tranny oil gets hot. Hot oil in the tranny isn't good.
If you can get a car to run the exact same ET every time then you've found something that nobody else has. Don't expect miracles. Having runs vary between .250 is really inconsistant. You're only .120.
Don't worry about the ET. There's too much that can effect it. Concentrate on the MPH since that shows how much power you actually make. Except for that second run, they were all 92.xx mph which shows the engine was making consistant power.

hey nasty, was your car white? I think I saw you there last night. I was runnin in the corolla becouse the t/a is still broke.
well anyway, like stepn said you were actually pretty consistant. what I noticed that day was the wind was constantly changing direction and speed. when I compare timeslips I notice that our times go up and down on the runs that were made at about the same time.
one of my little tricks is to watch my engine temp gauge and keep your temps the same for every one. this really helps. one time with the t/a I had a whole day where my et diddn't vary more than .1sec at all (14.44,14.47,14.43,14.44,14.37) but I think there was some luck involved

don't laugh to hard at my 18.90 dial in, I knocked out a 12sec colbra and a mid 13sec camaro
(r/t's between .550 and .514 and knowing my car inside and out helps)
don't worry though, like everything else it just takes practice. another thing to keep in mind is that when you do mods to your car not only to you make it preform differently but you make it behave differently in varying enviorments. so if you mod your car before bracket day practice time becomes very important.
don't worry, when I get my trans fixed I can't waight to run ya. my dial in on the t/a is only slightly faster than you so I know it will be a good race

I haven't modded the car since I got it. Which was less than a month ago. The weather was changing alot last night too, so it was hard to judge how the car was going to react. Temp went down but humidity went up. Better luck next week
