Front sway bar?

I understand the physics and such behind removing the front swaybar, improving weight transfer. Does this help alot? And do you do it at the track or drive with it off. I made an unprepared outing to e-town today, and I am finally getting some technique in my launches.

I have been able to keep the 60's in the 2.1- 2.2 area, and the car is trapping at 96-97 mph. I understand a set of drag radials are almost require, as these futuras are at their limit. I have nearly every bolton for the suspension done. I will be getting new wheels, so the rear stockers will get the DR's. Now I have 2 bad cats (again) So new cats and headers will be going in. Tomorrow I will play with the car a lil at home. After all the intake and fuel mods the car is still running the stock 6* initial timing. I wanna play with that and FP, and bypass the TB coolant. Does relocating the MAT sensor up front do anything? I'm sure I am also due for a new O2 sensor.

So am I on the right track?

Front sway bar on the drag strip isn't needed. It's extra weight on the front end and does nothing for the front suspension on the drag strip except restrict front end travel for weight transfer. It won't hurt anything to drive to the track with it removed.

Keep the rear sway bar if you have one or have one installed.

I street drive mine whenever possible, last year when I removed the front sway I noticed absolutely zero difference in handling in the type of driving I do and have heard that same story from many other 3rd gen owners.

Lose it, nothing to lose much to gain.

I dont daily drive but do drive my car alot for what it is(10-15K miles a year)and have been doing so without a sway bar for the last 3 years with no complaints.

I dont know how much it will help you without drag radials(or some sort of sticky tires)but it cant hurt. BTW when my GTA was pretty much stock(headers, flowmaster, air foil, free mods)I went 13.701@97.63mph with 1.824 60ft on drag radials so your mph is there for 13's with a good short time.

Oh and I'm planning to be at SLP day(if I can get my car back together)so maybe I'll catch you getting that 13 second run I'll be in this car if I make it there:

You all must have completely different driving habits/conditions than I. I noticed a difference going from the stock Berlinetta V6 front sway bar to the stock Sports Coupe V8 sway bar.

I agree about all that was said about the rear bar. Some people insist that just disconnecting one front link for drag racing improves weight transfer, but I've never tried it.
