I had one a combo in my car at one time it ran best in cold weather 11.89 but most of the time it would run 12.10s to low 20s It was a 355 with stock cast crank, and x rods with arp rod bolts, trw 2256 forged flattops 0 decked, world products 200cc heads, a comp cams 294s cam, roller rockers, old edelbock torker intake,650cfm carb, hooker long tubes, and dual 3in exhaust. Same motor with cheater plate and a 175hp shot ran 10.80 @125 mph. On street tires and on pump gas.

My current combo has ran an 11.7@116mph after cam swap and head porting. My orignal 383 combo ran a 12.02@113mph with a smaller cam and unported dart pro 1's everything else is the same as in my signature. Cam was a bullit hyd roller 225/230 dur@.05 .525 lift...great cam for street/strip. Normally that setup ran 12.1-12.3 depending on weather.

Thanks guys. I'm looking for the hot setups to get me into the low 12's but stay above 12.0 so I can stay in the street class at my local track. Putting together a 4 bolt 355, stock crank, eagle rods, TRW pistons, AFR 195 heads w/64cc chambers and I've got a super ram but I'm thinking about going carbed

If you have a late model hyd roller block I have the specks for a geat hyd roller that works with the factory lifters and retainers. I put this combo together fo a buddy he wanted a motor he coulde drive and take on long tips and use ac and soforth. On a stock short block dish pistons and the afr 195 heads and 650 cfm carb it ran 11.80 at 115mph you can alway detune or dare I say it lift at the big end.

with superram and a 10.5 to 1 or higher 355, and with LPE 219 cam, you should be low low 12's. slightly ported out AFR's and SuperRam with slightly bigger cam like 224/224 or 224/230 duration and .550lift, you should be 12.0's or so with good launches.

Im close with probably the least mods...
Stock bottem end, stock cam, stock heads (GT-40 valves, but NO porting at all), Cobra intake (unported), 65mm TB, 75mm MAF, CAI, Headers, H, and catback, 3.73s, T5 with FMS clutch, shifter, stock suspension, and on slicks ran 12.56!
Maybe some suspension and Id be there!

I've run a best of 12.92@107 on the combo in the sig. I've got World Products S/R heads, cleaned up and gasket/port matched. Cam recently wiped a lobe, and I've now got the Jasper piece back in

I ran 12.1@111 on a 1.69 with this setup
Stock turbo, intercooler, injectors, down pipe, cat back, suspension, torque converter.
Mods were:
8" K&N, ATR intake pipe, 92 Thrasher chip, 160 thermo, 210/205 cam, cat pipe, valve cover breather, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and Nitto's.
Not too shabby for a V6
Of course that might not help too much

My trans am will pull a 13.4-.5 on slicks. Course I need to go buy some first...
I'm sure I'd get in the 12's with a little N20. Or some bolt-ons lol.

(Hi Trax!)
406/(lig)SR/T56/HOTcam. car is set up for roadracing but still pulls a fair 1/4. much more power to be had with simple cam upgrade but I like it the way it is for RR.

Wow, this thread was brought back from the dead, lol. I've got the motor together now, changed plans bigtime since I started the thread. Sold the SR intake and went with a 650DP and a Performer RPM intake, Eagle 383 crank with 400 rods and forged pistons.Kept the AFR heads, stock. Mild cam. It's sitting on the engine dyno at work now and the first pull it made 465hp. Plan on getting it dialed in by the weekend.

Good numbers. That ought to get you in the low 12's without any problem. I notice that most of the motors were 383's or larger. Allen
