Good Weekend of Racing!

I had a pretty successful weekend of racing yesterday and friday. Went down friday night with the new 3500 stall and open exhaust. Missed getting into the 8.20's by .006 oh well, the car seemed fairly consistant for a brand new part that I hadn't had any passes on being in it, and I was looking forward to saturday. *Also set some new bests of 1.78 60' and 8.30 et.

Went down saturday put the mufflers back on and went into the sweltering heat. (I think the next mod is going to be a fan for the driver ) Car was running pretty consistant high .40's even though traction was nill due to a combination of street tire'd cars and a sun baked track. Eliminations for Street ET come around, the heat goes away, and dial-ins drop to low .40's. After a double breakout in first round where I came out with the better hand, I lucked out on a couple competition mistakes and ended up in the semi's where I should have had the bye into the finals since both of the other drivers had recieved a bye that night. Well evidently there was a mistake in the tower and I was paired up. Being 19 and racing in an enviroment of 35+ years old's can be intimidating and so I didn't say anything. (that won't happen again) I went out and won anyways and made it to the finals though. In the finals I got tree'd hardcore, but something didn't feel right coming off the line and I think its what cost me some reaction time, I'll be looking into that this week. So I took home runner-up for the second time this season, a little $$, and moved up 2 spots to #2 in the season points standings.

All in all a great weekend of racing!

Great job!! You stay away from me when I come down there in a few weeks LOL!! Glad that new convertor is working out, so did it mess with your R/T much?

My first year racing I let things slide like that also, intimidation factor. But the next year if something was'nt right I made it known. The only thing I can say is Karma usually works itself out, if your meant to be there, you'll continue, if not your on the trailer next round....I've played both sides of that coin, not superstitious even though wife tells me I am, but seen it played out too many times to call it lucky/unlucky.

Get some Flowmaster mufflers and you'll never have to drop your exhast again since you'll run the sme number anyways!! 4 years, 2 motors and my car never changes corked/uncorked, and it's always cooler being the quite one that carries a big stick

Yeah, it messed with it some, I'm still learning how I need to stall it for the best light. Right now it seems like perhaps going right up against it will provide the most consistant light, and making a run at it from about 1500 will make for the quickest times. I'll still be playing with it next friday.

I do plan on getting something done in the muffler department. I bought these damn quiet things expecting to run them for 11 races last year in high school class and ditch them, but then the rules changed this year and I'm back with 'em

I dont think I'll be able to make it up there this weekend though, dont have anyone to go with me, and its looking like the duramax will be outta town anyways. The big 4th of July race is going to 3 days of racing anyways, dont want to burn myself out right before that

Too bad your points race is on the 30th next month, the night of fire is the only real fun race to run up here with packed house!!

Well, friday night, saturday, and sunday. The big payout is saturday, with the iron man race sunday, and a gamblers race on friday night.

edit: about forgot, they sometimes do wheelie contests on friday night, you might have to throw in the big pill and take a shot at it!

Big pill and hellacious shot of juice I dont have LOL!! Think something went goofy at Tri-State, I had to turn the chip waay up to cut a good light down there since roll ouot is ALOT longer than out tracks, the second to last pass it leaned waay over to the pass side-more than ever, kinda scared me a little but thought nothing of it. Then in the finals it did the same thing and drove straight for the wall Have'nt looked to see if rear sway bar end link got bent, or what. It was a consistent twist luckily, but makes you stay on your toes though LOL!!
