Fire systems.
Not quite sure where to put this, but I figured this would be the most appropriate place..
I've been looking at fire systems for my camaro road race project, what I had been planing on doing was having a 5 pound bottle with 3 or 4 nozzles for the engine bay. Then another 5 pound bottle for the passenger compartment with 3 or 4 nozzles there too. That way if there was a fire I could fog the area needed and not just everything..
I've also seen quite a few companies advertising this Halon gas for the systems. But I've heard horror stories about the stuff being used in marine engine rooms. Totally different environment I know but this is one of those things that you don't wanna say "oops" or "didn't think about that one" about.
So anyone got an idea, advice, a direction maybe?
Thanks.

Even I don't require such a system although having one is just more insurance. Best bet is to buy one of the advertised systems. Go to the track and talk to any alcohol dragster or funny car racer about their fire supression systems for more info.
Under IHRA rules I need to have a fire extinguisher in the car. Mine is mounted on the cross bar of the roll bar. Personally I doubt it would do any good if I had a fire in the car. I could be out of the car faster than trying to get the extinguisher.
