I finally made it to 13's
Well I finally made it. Went to the track last nite with my brother. First run was the same 14.08 that I ran the last time when it was hot and muggy. Now we have had some dry cool weather. It was prolly around 65* 45%RH last nite. Well the forst run was done 10 minutes after I got into the pits, so there wasnt much cooldown. Then we had an hour and a half wait, by then it was dark. This time I just nailed it off the line, no brake torqueing it. Got a 1.95 60 ft, crossed the line at 13.9xx @ 97.72 mph. No I am definitly psyced about doing the valve train. Starting with all new lifters springs, seals, and rockers. That should tighten it up a bit. I still need a set of headers, I want to pick up some more MPH at the top.
Oh as a bonus I raced my brother in his 05 GTO. I knew I didnt have a chance taking him in the long run, but I had him out of the hole and was a little on top by the 1/8, then he walked past me. Well, at least he is getting his moneys worth.
FYI, this is what I got done as of now.
Engine : L98 w 131000 original miles
mods- Gutted airbox, KNNs, air foil, ported plenum, SLP runners,
Accell 23# injectors, Holley AFPR, MSD Coil, Accell wires cap and rotor.
Exhaust: Stock L98 manifolds, catco dual cat replacements, SLP loudmouth.
Trans: Rebuilt by previous owner, stock stall, transgo kit (installed by my mechanic), LS1 Aluminum driveshaft
Rear: SLP posi, Motive 3.73's, Reinforced diff cover.
Suspension: TDS wonderbar, Spohn SFC, BMR LCAs, PHB, STB, LCA relocation brackets and torque arm
and the tires, BFG DR's 255/50/16 mounted on stock 16x8's

Good 60, but I think you still have some potential there on the table, with your tires and suspension mods.
Nice run! If mine would only hook as good as yours
Hoping for 1.8x 60s in a few weeks heehehe

Right now I think the only thing that would probaly help whit the 60 is a higher stall converter. Refreshing the valvetrain will also help up top. I want to try and add some MPH to that. I figure headers, new valvetrain, and a chip will help a lot.

Yeah, even with 315/35/17 Nitto DR's, the best I can 60 is 1.89. It's either bog or spin. I could use a Vigilante converter also. Headers and cooler/drier air will get you more MPH. My best times and MPH will be in Oct. and Nov.
