Any idea or guessing what this should run?
Any idea or guessing what this should run?
I have a 82 z/28 with the following
305 - runs and starts smooth, has a new cam that the previous owner put in but is a replacement stock cam
Edelbrock performer intake (no EGR)
Holley 750 vacuum, runs ok, carb might be to a bit to big- but thats all I had to put on it when I replaced distributer and CC carb
All computer stuff has been taken off, no AC, No CAT Converter, or stuff like that
Fresh tranny- built up- will catch rubber going into 2 and 3 gear
Fresh 3.73 Posi -
I know its not the fastes thing around, but if anyone has a guess I would be happy to hear it, it runs drives and starts good.

If you don't sit on the line spinning the tires, you'll probably run in the 15's.

Sounds like a solid mid 15 second ride, low 15's if you can drive.

I didn't have traction problems when I went out for a time-only run on a regular race night and ran 14.4. A couple of weeks later, I went out on a "club" race night, spun so bad off the line I thought I had lunched the transmission, and ran a 15.5. That was with 2.93 gears and 245/50x16 GS-C tires.
Traction makes a huge difference.
