305 TPI T-5 times
well i went to US41 yesterday, and i think i did suprisingly well.
my first run...this was my first run down a dragstrip in my entire life so i didnt launch it or anything i just wanted to get a feel for the track.
1.
RT : 1.095
60FT : 2.551
1/8 ET : 10.394
1/8 MPH : 69.42
1/4 ET : 16.045
1/4 MPH : 87.34
Run 3 was my best ET of the day with
RT : .895
60 ft : 2.140
1/8 ET : 9.750
1/8 MPH : 70.65
1/4 ET : 15.319
1/4 MPH : 88.41
the car is all stock with a 305 TPI with unknown mileage, a T-5 trans thats about to bite the dust, the ONLY mod to the car is a SLP 20TL Muffler. the runs were done on very bald street tires and i spun all the way through first and partially through second.
so i think i did pretty good. tell me what you guys think

Your times are not bad at all, and you bested my 60' time on drag radials.
My car is a hardtop '88 Iroc Z, has a stock 188,000 mile longblock, stock manifolds, air pump, AC, power windows, 3.08 gears. 3460 lbs with 3/4 tank of fuel and me in it.
I have advanced the timing from stock 6* btdc to 10*, cut out baffles in the airbox, fresh airfilters (purolator, no K and N's) and I have home port matched the manifold base, siamesed the runners and done a little clean up on the plenum- these last 3 are probably of little gain without headers. Cat has been removed and a Thunderbolt brand chambered muffler installed in the stock location using the stock 2 1/2" intermediate pipe and tailpipes.
On a near 90* day with a headwind I did -
60'-2.21
1/8-9.73
1/8 mph-72.21
1/4-15.11
1/4 mph 92.20
Track in Reynolds, GA proably about 600' above sea level.
On a 78* night with 80% humidity in Savannah at sea level I did-
60'-2.31
1/8-9.65
mph-72.34, track is 1/8 mile
All of these passes are shifting at 5,000. No powershifting, my T5 is fresh but I'm not that brave.
I have tried in effort to get the best 60' launching many different ways- tried leaving like taking off from a traffic light and then mashing the gas, tried varying RPM's, tried slipping the clutch and easing it out, and the best thing working for me is to do a good burnout and get smoke off the Drag Radials, then snap the clutch out at about 3500 RPM- any less, it bogs and falls on it's face, any more and the clutch slips and burns (stock clutch).
The biggest gain I could do would be a gear swap.

yea....i was out to get some good times so i beat the living crap out of my T-5....powershifting at 4500 RPM seemed to work best.....my launch technique....i slipped the clutch at 3000 RPM for a few feet then dumped it, anything less that 3000 and it would bog like a ****. if i shifted at 5K my times got slower....i could also pretty much feel the car stop pulling after 4500 (stock TPI), i also have 3.42 gears with a posi thats on it last leg, like i said i dont think i did too bad for bald street tires, i have DR's but no rims to put them on
