I finally got a capture device to transfer my 8mm tapes onto computer. I played around with a little bit of footage and fumbled my way through my first ever video last night. Its 6min long and 78MB so it'll take a couple of minutes to save. Make sure to crank it up.

Right click, save as:

Cool. I wish I had some video of my car.

So that's what SIR looks like

We get a limited season in Calgary this year. The Calgary Drag Racing Association is getting some race dates so there should be 6-8 races here. I still may travel at least once to Edmonton this year.

As nice as that video is, you may want to redo it into a smaller size like 640x400 for playing on the internet. A smaller size will download quicker especially for dial up users and will still display well.

Look at all the videos on videos.streetfire.net. They're all watchable in a smaller format.

Yeah, I read on HH that there have been some recent developments with you guys. Good that you'll have something in your backyard and won't have to travel out of town every time.

What's the latest on Rimbey? I haven't read much about that one lately.

And I agree on the smaller resoltion for downloading. When you posted that, I had already loaded a 40mb version (640x400) on streetfire to test it out.

Actual elevation is 1800' but we're looking at 3500' DA on most race days. Also the track is 100% asphalt.

Changes for 2006 include:
4200rpm 9.5" JW converter;
Vic Jr. Intake;
Dumps at the collectors;
and maybe a CSR electric pump.

I picked up some 26" (235/60/15) ET Street Radials so I am hoping that I can run in th 11.50 range on 91 octane with 235 radials on all four corners.

What kind of tire did you use in that video? looks like a bias ply slick by the wrinkles it had in the sidewall...how`s it handle at the far end with the big font tires up front and what looks like slicks in the back? And yea good first video I hope I`m able to get one up too this year

Those were 26x10.5" MT ET Streets. The car handles fine at the top end of the track with those tires. On the freeway though they are pretty loose when changing lanes.
