Is this 60ft possible?

My normal 60' footbraking is 1.44. I always bring up the rpm's to at least 3000 on a 5000 stall convertor and nail it. On this pass I'm staged and I'm trying to bring the rpm's up to 3300 so I'm really pressing hard with my left foot on the brake and I feel the pedal go down almost to the floor, the car inches forward a little, so my reaction is to let off the gas. All this is happening while the tree is coming down so I say to myself f*** it and just nail it. Fortunetly I just barely lit the second bulb so I didn't creep though the lights and didn't go red. Car left good so I run everything out as usual. I running this real sweet Nova heads up because it was a time shot before the eliminations. I'm out on him pretty good and was starting to wonder where the heck he is, I shift to second and he does finally catch me and start to pull on me which didn't suprise me since he had a bitchin big block. What really surprised me was when I got my timeslip and saw my 60 ft was 1.068 I still have my doubts and I'm still in disbelief, but when I look at the timeslip and see that he had a better reaction time and when I replay the run in my head and know that I was out on him pretty good and his 60' was 1.414, it makes sense but I'm still can't believe it. It turned out that my brake line on the driver front was rub by a header that was too close and burst though shooting brake fluid on the header and making a nice cloud of smoke. I'm in the process of fixing that now. What do you guys make of this? I'm attaching the timeslip and I didn't photoshop it I swear. In the new window Click the lower right corner of the attachment and it should enlarge. I'm the left lane Car number 5872.

that 60' is possible, but not from your combo. i'd chuck that one up to a timing malfunction at the track...and with the kinda problems i've seen with Atco's stuff in the past few weeks, i wouldn't doubt that it was an "oopsy" on the timing systems part. a 1.068 60' is like what a low 7 second car runs...1.0's and 1.1's.

It can happen, but usually when it does you end up breaking something. Mostly likelyu it was a screw up, but It coulda of happened, I wouldn't count on it again though.

Definately a timing malfunction based off incermentals, but still cool non the less. Buddy once ran 154 mph and clicked of a 12.7 ET LOL!!

Some combinations will actually 60' better when foot braking by staging at a dead idle and "getting a run at the convertor" as opposed to having everything pre loaded by bringing up the rpm's.

HOLY SHI* You ran 6 seconds in the 1/8th? Man, this camaro of yours isnt street legal is it? I mean WTF? I am running 9.92 in the 1/8... with street tires.. 2.73 in the rear.. Every one at the track was telling me thats pretty good for a mostly Stock camaro.. Esspecially a 350 Tbi.. with timing at 0*... I want to hit the mid 8's, with shorty headers and a timing change.. This was my very first time drag racing also.. this was my 5th out of 7 runs... the last two were 10.2's.... Man thats Insane....

yeah that is some sick #'s. I would chalk it up as a mistake. Also save the slip so you can prove it was yours as braggin rights I thought i was Mr. Badass when i pulled a 1.6 60' spraying out the hole and only getting a 8.1 time slip on the 1/8th mile

There is no way that you are gonna pick up 1.5 seconds in the 1/8th mile with shorty headers and more timing. Mid 9s maybe if you're lucky and get a better launch!

Well it's tagged, and has collector insurance and inspection but it never see's any street since I got a trailer a couple years ago. So I'd have to say it's a track car only now.

If you would have had a legit 1.068 60ft., Plan on going 4.90+ in the 1/8th. I use to cut 1.04x 60ft's running 4.70's back when I had the dragster. Definatly timing malfuntion. I see it alot with turbo cars that have their down pipe too close to the front wheels. All the exhaust hazes around the beams and doesnt break when the wheels move.

I think you hit the nail right on the head there. Brake fluid ran onto the headers and made a cloud of smoke, must of messed with the beams, that might explain it.
