my progress...

Hey, just letting everyone check out my setup so far, let me know what you think.
So here is the run down of what i have so far, PA kmember, tubular a-arms, coil overs w/ 90/10s, aerospace brakes, converted it to rack and pinion steering w/ a Flaming river rack, wilwood MC w/ manual brake adapter, Sphon torque arm, UMI subframes, hotparts.com aluminum LCAs and panhard rod, Moser 9" housing, 35 spline moser axels, moser spool, Strange third member w/ daytona pinion support, 1350 yoke, 4.30 gear. Hopefully im not leaving anything out, but all i need now is the Sphon rear coil over kit, aerospace rear brakes, and cage, and my roller will be done. Here are some pics of it so far.

Re: my progress...

Couple Questions. 1, what is the PN of the Master Cylinder and Adapter? did it line right up with the brake pedal?(aftermoving pivot up 1 inch).

2, who makes those motor mounts? do they work with the stock ears or do they come with ears for the motor. Will the motor sit at stock height?.

3, What was the thread on that 9 inch vent hole?.

Looks awesome, im working hard on my roller also, only I stuck with regualr steering and went with mostly Spohn stuff.

Re: my progress...

If i didnt get the rack so cheap i would have just stuck with my manual steering box too. But Moroso make motor mounts just for third gens, just look it up on Summit Racing. The manual brakes are kind of a pain, but here it is, first we make the adapter to the firewall, and the MC is a Wilwood chrsyler style MC, and i took the brake pedal out and drill a hole one inch up from the stock location and threaded a heim joint on the end of the rod and put a bolt in it, the adapter is the hardest part , i actually have a few lying around that just need to be trimmed on the edges and the MC hole tooled out a little more. If you need one PM me, i will hook you up. As for the vent hole i think its a 3/8 thread, but not real sure, it came pre drilled and threaded there from Moser. Also the MC is also in the Summit catalog, and the motor probably will sit a inch or two higher just from what i have read, but with a tubular k-member it shouldnt matter much for header clearance, but i am having my headers made.

Righton, I kinda figured you made the MC mount. Im trying to run a stock hood with my new motor so I need the motor to sit at stock level or lower. I didn't know the moroso mounts came chrome like that, I thought they might be some niche companys mounts.

The Rack is sweet, good to hear you got a deal on it, by the time I got a rebuilt box and all new steeing linkage, I could have almost done a rack conversion, but I wanted power steering still since im going to be running stock wheels and 245/50/16's on the front and 11.5X28X16 ET streets on the back.

I have the same moser housing but my vent hole wasn't tapped so was just curious.

I will fire over a PM about the MC plate later.

Thanks

Re: my progress...

Your fuel lines and regulators are not track legal under NHRA or IHRA rules.

Fuel lines in the bellhousing area must be steel, steel braided or enclosed in a steel tubes and the regulators must be mounted at least 6" away from the firewall.

I wouldn't mind using a steering rack like that except there's no room for the steering shaft in my car. It's just a wall of header tubes for me. No place for the shaft to go through.

Re: my progress...

man it's looking AWESOME!!! i need to get a tubular k-member and a 9 inch and nice brakes and alot of other stuff. stephen is right though, you need to get those fuel lines off of the firewall, even though it looks SUPER clean.

Re: my progress...

Actually, the fuel lines are going to be moved to come down the pass. side, but the regulators will be in the same spot. Around here there is no tech inspection and the only track around me (3 hrs. away) tech is a joke. But i do understand the concerns about the fuel lines and i may even change them to stainless braided lines i just dont know yet. The purpose of the car is for grudge racing, so there will never be a need for tech anyways, if yall dont know what grudge racing is its just two cars running for money, i shoud have plenty of it to waste after this cars is done!! But i do thank both of yall for you complemints. thanks
----------
Also on another note i would never recommend anyone switching to rack steering, the money, to pain in the a$$ vs. weight loss is minimal. If i didnt get it on a good deal i would still have a manual steering box. But the k-member and aerospace brakes are Awesome!!! especially the brakes.

Re: my progress...

when I first got my car together with a v8 in it the track offical told me that the fuel regulator had to be mounted on the firewall. Thats why I put mine there, now I know differnet. Oh well when I redo some things on my car I will change all that. Everthing looks great and is similar to my set up and you should be pleased with it.

Re: my progress...

I run at Shadyside, Morresville, and Farmington, i dont like 1/4 mile tracks. But i meant the only track around me that does tech, with is Rockingham. But yea we can get it on one day, our engine setups are pretty similar.
The k-member comes with rack mounts and from there you just make a steering shaft for it. But hit me up if you need that MC adapter.

Re: my progress...

yeah its the coil over kit that PA racing offers. its pretty simple design, but i havent had a motor in it, so i havent driven it anywhere to tell you the quality of the product. and it doesnt come with the reinforcement plates like spohn, but im not really made of money, so if i had money i would have defentily went with Spohns front coil overs, but i did spent the extra cash and buy Spohns rear coil overs and they are NICE!!

Re: my progress...

i was almost sure PA's coilover kit comes with the "rings" that go under the strut tower that bolts to the caster/camber plates? or are you talking about a different reinforcements?

Re: my progress...

ok, this weekend i bought a rack at a swap meet. it is a flaming river rack just like yours, but it has mounts for a 4th gen TIG'd to it. i was going to ask you if you could post a pic showing the location of the rack compared to the a arm bushing. im gonna mod my stock k member to use the existing mounts on the rack.
