Year One Track Day
Not sure where exactly to post this, so feel free to move this post if need be. I'm scheduled to run my car in track day at Road Atlanta at the Year One experience. Has anyone here done anything like this before? This is my first time. Anyway, I feel like the suspension and brakes are up to the task, but what about my engine/trans? Would adding some kind of oil or trans cooler be necessary for an event like this? The day is fast approaching and I just want to be sure the car stays together. There will be two twenty minute sessions. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Year One Track Day
onebadta, it was very nice to meet you. you're a credit to this organization. Track day was just big stupid fun, that's the only way I know how to describe it! For a rookie, I didn't do all that bad. The car held up well, but to be honest, it was one of the slower ones out there. Spinning out was a very humbling experience. Those Panoz instructors are awesome drivers.
Johnny Hunkins from Poplular Hot Rodding came up afterward and was asking me about the car. I probably stuttered and stammered all over myself like some dumb kid. Still, the fact that he would even take a picture of my car is an honor. Easlily one of the top ten greatest days of my life. Anyone who is into cars needs to try a track day, it'll probably be the closest any of us get to that boyhood dream of being a race driver. It's been over a week now, and I'm still pumped up. I'll definitely run it next year, hopefully my '77 T/A will put in an appearance as well.

Re: Year One Track Day
Russ89 It was a pleasure to meet you also.. I hope I get the oppertunity to attend the year one event next year as well.. My car still has a bad vibration coming from somewhere.. so i was unable to bring it to this years event.. I did goto the Panoz and talk with the about dooing a track day possibly in September.. I hope i get the chance to meet up with you again... I've been to lots of car shows and races but I never imagined that the year one event would be so great.. even thou i did't have a car there the ones that were there was spectaculer look at.. all the vendor were extreamly friendly yet none were pushy about there products.... I hope to attend other events like this one if there is a such thing..
