First Race Weekend
Went on for the TNT on Saturday and didn't tune too much. Just made 5 runs to get a feel for the tree. Went out again on Sunday at ran two classes. I cut lights in the .050-.070 range all 6 test runs and drew the #3 points finisher last year in the first round of sportsman. I decied to tighten that up and go in 1"-2" deeper on the tree. I knew better but still did it and took myself out with an .016 red light. I had better luck in Street and managed to win the class - its just too bad it wasn't a bigger field witha good payday.
I put a set of 3.08 gears in my car last fall when I broke the 3.73s. The car ran 11.84@115 on a 1.67 at 3100'DA. The best before was a 11.72@115 on a 1.66 at a similar 3000ish DA. I guess the car is running a bit better now but its a testament to how small my cam is (I shift at 5200 and go through about 5100 right now).
My biggest issue right now is keeping the car consistantely cool. By the 3rd pass it starts to really build temperature. Are many of you guys running an electric water pump drive? I already have a Victor alum. water pump and 3" Griffin rad.

My first time out certainly was ragged this year. Come to think of it, it hasn't improved much since then. . .
E85 helps the cooling issue. As in, it doesn't need to be as cool.
