Thinking about doing body wrap for next season
My decal buddy just bought the big printer for his business that can do the body wraps we're starting to see more and more. I keep thinking i would like to do it to my car...come up with some really kick azz designs and incorporate it for a complete body wrap...we're planning on wrapping the rear hatch with the perf stuff so i can still see out of it, but i think using it for my business advertising would really make it kick...just dont want it too gawdy since wrapping is already borderline gay IMO so it has to be pulled off with some cool factor
so whatcha think? anybody have links to other cars with wraps...sky is the limit to whatever we wanna put on the car-literally.

I just look at wraps as a poor man's paint job. I'm not too sure how well I'd want every piece of metal covered with a decal. It may keep moisture off for a while. Personally, I'd go for a flashy paint scheme first. Even old 70's van murals were painted on. They looked good from a distance like most murals are done but close up, there was no detail. A wrap will at least allow detail in any pictures.

just like normal vinyl lettering, except they're in 3'x?'. long sheets, the material has tiny perforations that allow you to squeege out all air pockets...tedious, but buddy said he'd provide material/labor in trade for me buying 2 programs for his computer to run the stuff...$750, so a no brainer price wise for me, great advertising for him...locally to have a 6x12 single axle enclosed trailer done is $6800 for the wrap....buddy said he's pricing it out at $15/sq/ft so he'll be pretty cheap and will probably pick up alot once it gets going...he's already using it on the stock cars he does..saves him tons of time and money. funny part...it costs him less to make these single print signages then the old multi layered vinyl stuff...costs less, less time, charge more...hmmm, i'm in the wrong business LOL

If its overdone, it should be running 8s.. I have always loved cars that look 14s and run 10s..
But as far as poor mans paint job, well better tell those poor guys in nascar!

Re: Thinking about doing body wrap for next season
alot of my thinking is just blunt advertising, i dont get to drive the car as much as i used too, so figured if i had my company logo and stuff on it, the times i do drive it will make a lasting impression...kinda like my cube van with the diamond plate flames and in your face logo...i've gotten quite a few calls from the van alone just driving to a job site.
Actually, for advertising the more absurd the better...really leaves an impression and makes people remember, but i dont want it to be gay so it's one of those touchey situations with making it cool/tactful but still leave a lasting impression.
