what should my car run?

i've never been to the track but i'm itching to go now, and i was curious as to what i "might" run, i have a 305 5 speed with 3.73 gears, i dont know the weight of the car but i last dyno'd 381hp and 400 ft/lb's of torque, i have eibach prokit springs with tokico illumina struts/shocks and lower control arm relocation brackets, the run would most likely be on 255/50/16 mickey thompson et street drag radials.

is there a way to figure 1/4 mile time with the horsepower?

High 12's would be my guess with decent traction. Shoot for some mid 12's though.

381 at the wheels??? that should be anywhere from high 11's to mid 12's.. good luck getting the radials to hook better than a 1.7..

Re: what should my car run?

yes 381 at the wheels, i had some bfgoodrich drag radials but they are worn out now, traction is the thing, what would be the procedure on heating up drag radials? also air pressure, i try to take off and i just roast the tires

How are you guys doing this!?! I've got 34X hp at the wheels and can only muster a 12.9! I know I can't drive but dropping a full second off that....I don't know....

Re: what should my car run?

for a manual car, pressure is around 12-15psi.. burnout is a short one just to see smoke.. if you have a line lock, try preloading on the line.. it should help with the killing of the tires.. if not, try not to drop the clutch off the line.. ease it out and hope for the best..

i'll give you a 12.4 @ 110 estimate.. thats a pretty good run at 3600lbs..

my car weighs in at about 3100 and has about the same power output as 86Z.. estimate is 11.63@116.. look at my sig.. its a combo of good driving, good traction and a consistant car..

Re: what should my car run?

I made 371rwhp or something like that on a Mustang Dyno and run high 11s at 113-115mph at 3000'+ density altitude. It will really depend on your 60' though. You are sure maknig a lot of power per cubic inch.
