New Best on motor
I went to Atco last night and finally got into the 11's barely but I'll take it! New time in sig. and that was with some of the worst prep that I have ever experienced at Atco EVER! Because I usually run low 1.6's but my best was a mid 1.6 last night....Anyway, I am just happy that it finally got over that hump lol.....

Re: New Best on motor
congrats on your new time! I've seen alot of guys hit low 12's high 11's on that combo....I'm wondering what makes it so you are hitting low 12's high 11's on a cam slightly better than mine and a smaller engine? oh well im envious

Re: New Best on motor
Thanks! I really don't see why not... It will take some time if anything to get the tune right... I still have alot to do myself it just depends on your track and how much time you can change things to see if they are working or not..Like the other night I kept getting low low 12's as usual, but then I bumped the timing 2* and bang it went into the 11's finally... Then my next pass my #4 intake valve decided to drop
and that was the end for now lol...----------

I'll have to go thru some of my cd's for more...

Re: New Best on motor
Any idea on the ride height on the front? I really like that stance, I'm installing new trick springs this winter and would like it to set about that level.
Looks good, I'm kinda partial to the cowl/pro-star set up myself

Re: New Best on motor
Quick question, what fuel pump did you decide to run, and do you run a regulator. Right now I run the stock TBI pump with the Mallory return style regulator and I'm looking to upgrade.

Don't worry it will be back together in the next couple of weeks or so...The motor got a little Hungry and decided to chew on a valve for snack!

Oh yea, and this is what you'll be seeing, so I'll make sure that they are nice and clean!

Re: New Best on motor
Congrats 1QWIKZ, on the 11 sec pass.. i just got my first one in july..
Zacharyhorn, your setup is very capable but i do believe you might need more carb.. and you heads seem a tad on the large side.. but all in all, i think you can hit 11's provided you get good traction.. btw, hows powershifting with that centerforce DF?? if the shifter seems to hit a "wall" drop the trans and pull off the centrifugal weights.. i would always miss shifts then i took the weights off and i rarely miss now.. good luck

Re: New Best on motor
Congratulations on running the number!
Sorry to hear about the valve, that's never fun. How does the deck of the head look? Piston?
My goals for next year are 12.0-12.1's with the 215/215 cam and a 1.6 60', I don't know if it has 11's in it though.

Re: New Best on motor
Thanks Again! Actually, the piston just has a little knick which will buff out lol...But, the head will definitely need re-seating for sure and possibly go to a larger vavle like a 2.05....But all in all not too bad I'll upload some pics later...
