dish pistons and you think it'll be 10:1 ?

Has the engine been zero decked? I think you'd be close, but it'll take some tuning. I'd say 12.20s would be doable for sure.

oh no those pistons will be in the hole a bit, it's not going to be that high of a compression. Maybe 9.3 or so, haven't done the calculations in a while. You'd really want the higher compression with that cam. A smaller cam would work better with the lower compression.

I will agre with xpndbl 3 12.20s and comp at about 9.25 to 1 But it is a great economical motor with good power.

Only weak point will be your rear end will break. Yes it will be a great cruiser and I bet it will run on 89 Oct maby even 87 Oct This vortec head dont need alot of timing to run good. And trust me a low 12 sec ride is still a good ride its not as easy as it looks to get 11 sec street cars. If you had a BB or LS1 its a little easier.

Do you have the cam card timing specs?
Is the cam installed straight up?

Re: possible 11.99 vortec setup?

Based on the cam specs(XE284H), you're probably a full point down on compression. The Vortecs could handle 10:1 plus (which you need with that cam) providing you watch your total timing and keep the engine/intake cool.
Milling your heads to 60cc will bring things up around 6/10's (to around 9.9:1).
That would help.
You may go quicker with the XE274 if you don't increase the compression.
The estimates from everyone are pretty close I'd think. High 12's. Unless you've lightened your car by 500 lbs.
