Just wondering what my setup will net in the 1/4 mile. 3300 lb car. Also, say if i want to get into the 12's what will i need to do to take it there.

1992 Camaro RS,
2.5 inch true duals with magnaflow muffler,
hedman shorty headers,
Open Air Element,
2.73 open,
350 roller block, 0.30 over stock dished pistons, ~10.5:1 compression
comp xe258 roller cam,
modified 081 heads (3 angle valve job, ported, polished, comp 981 springs, 1.94", 1.55" stainless valves)
6210-3 650 dp ,
performer intake,
homemade strut tower bar.
with 255/60/r15 bfg radial t/a's and soon to have a fiberglass hood, with some more weight reductions.
th350 transmission, with stage 2 shift kit, 2800 stall, automatic/manual valve body.

First thing, get rid of your gears!!
Get a set of 3.42's or 3.73's!
Get a set of Lcarbs
Get some sticky tires.

Did you get it to the track last summer? or this summer will be the 1st for it?

 

more cam, more exhaust, more intake, more suspension, more everything....you're a ways off.

 

this will be the first time this summer.

what kind of cam do you think i should use? considering my heads should be good for a max of .525 lift

The exhaust should be good, i have true duals from the headers all the way back.

Performer RPM will be going on if i change the cam.

just swap gears and get either drag radials or slicks for your first time at the strip.. you need a baseline to expand on.. who knows, you might hit 12's first time out but most likely not..

the exhaust should be good.. my 385 breathes through 2.5" duals.. but i do get a 20hp loss from open headers.. proven 2mph gain in the 1/4 with open headers..

12s huh. Well I had my stock 5.7 TPI 200,000 miles, No cam, no head work NOTING other than Eldelbrock Shorty headers, SLP Loudmouth Exhaust, 75 Shot of Nitrous, Moser 9in with 3:70s and Mickey Ts Drag Radial 255 50 16 stock GTA Wheels..Only wieght, what maybe 3600 IDK what a GTA weights factory, I lost some from the Ram Air hood. Car went 12.9s 12.8s All day long. No Suspension..well I took off the Front sway bar..Went to a 100 shot 12.7s 12.6s at like 109 MPH. Then 150 raced a few cars from town that run mid 11s, they won but not by much... So.. SPRAY IT!!!! Change gears 3:73s 3:55s Something in there, Posi, good rubber and I dont see why not. I put true dual Mangapacks on mine and it slowed it down..maybe more weight..take taht in mind..weight...
