im looking at making about 450 at the crank with the turbo, so i need hook that a pair of slicks alone probably wont give me.

are you bracket racing or just looking for time slips?

i assume no bracket racing with a turbo, and if your just looking for a time slip:

slicks-450 at the crank sounds like alot but there are plenty of guys running completely stock suspensions (cept for the junk stock diff) running well into the 9's, your looking at high 11's, slicks are what you will need.

now if your bracket racing and need the timeslip to be the exact same pass after pass, lose the turbo, and then we'll get intot he nitty gritty of changes you can make, but no so much for hook, but more so getting newer tighter parts in there to minimize things flexing and causing a .00X and a few .00x there that will all add up to a ET chasing problem...but trust me, for now, stick with a BIAS PLY DOT or full race slick and you'll be fine.

Take off your front sway bar if you have one, get some slicks, and see what happens... I've been 1.5x's on many occasions without any aftermarket suspension parts whatsoever... I wouldn't say my car is consistent but it'd usually hook. That's what makes it fun for me.
