One of the tracks I run at sometimes has pits that are inconvenient to get to while racing, so I built a cart to move the basics around. It is mostly aluminum, and uses wheels and running gear from a landscaping cart. I designed it to hold the genarator, gas and nitrous bottles, it can hold up to 4 lol also the tool box and cooler.

Re: Track cart
Good idea for oval track racers who can't park their trailers in the pit area. The NASCAR racers have huge "war wagons". There's a number of commercially available ones and how to plans can be found on the web.

The majority of drag racers park right beside their trailers where all that stuff is kept.

Re: Track cart
I didnt want to lug a bus around or spend 3k , just trying to make things easier at this one track i go to sometimes. now having built this cart and used it at the track i think i will bring it to the other tracks, not every one has an enclosed trailer, and if the pits are tight walking up to the truck car be inconvenient. I thought some people might be able to relate to the inconvenient pit problem which must not happen in canada.

Re: Track cart
i love it and wish i had one!! aside from helping with your pit situation, it could help out also with loading and unloading. you can just keep most everything on your cart and roll it on and off the trailer. i would love to be setup like that as im still using an open trailer and i cant stand making 10 trips to and from the garage lugging stuff to the bed of the truck.
my idea would be to have a ramp coming off the side of the front of the trailer just to pull the cart on and off. then have some sort of restraints up there to hold it on once loaded. hmmmmm....

Re: Track cart
2 guys can easily throw it in the bed of the truck almost fully loaded, I usually put the nitrous bottles in the cab of the truck.

Re: Track cart
I may make something similar but i need something i can haul behind my car, because Iowa roads aren't very nice to good wheels/tires and It sucks packing your car full around an 8 point cage

Re: Track cart
bad *** dude! good work rich! i second the pull behind the car thing...it's getting cheaper and cheaper to just drive the car out to the track than to tow with my deisel...

Re: Track cart
i don't have a truck or trailer so driving is my only viable option, but yeah, i will be losing the spot for my jack and gas can when i put the battery in the back again
