Just another what will it run question.... :/

Ok, some are probably bored of this kind of questions and I understand that but I am curious and my TA wont be completed untill next spring.

Its 86 TA with:

ZZ383 425hp/440 tq engine (from GM Performance)
Edelbrock Performer rpm dual plane intake (so probably little less hp and more tq at lower end),
SMI Stage 2 Q-jet carb,
MSD ignition, MSD 6AL,
Hooker 2210, Single Mufflex 4 inch exhaust (no cat)

TH700R4 Raptor (for engines up to 600 hp/600 tq), 2500 rpm stall

9 inch Ford with 3.50 and True Track

275/40/17 drag radials at back

And lot of other stuff that doesnt matter for 1/4 mile (like UMI subframe connector, Wonderbar, etc etc).

I had been aiming at mid to high 12s but that whas without drag radials.

What should I expect with my combo (and the drag radials)?

I'm gonna say low 13's, maybe high 12's. Gotta remember that motor only puts like 375ish to the wheels.

I sure hope it will be better than low 13´s. I think it was Chevy High Performance who put this engine in Nova with dual plane intake, 4.10, 3000 stall and the got in the 11´s.

12's should be easy.

375 to the wheels is good for 11's there buddy. My car runs mid-low 12's and has what I'd guess to be around 330 at the wheels.

I just took a stab at it, I've seen a bunch of 350+hp cars go high 12's lately, I guess its all dependant on traction and suspension.

I thought so, I had been hoping for mid to high 12´s but now I hope low 12´s (because of the drag radials).

I'd say it will go mid 12's depending on weight and how well it leaves.

The stall on the converter is a little low. You are good for mid to high 12's. With a higher stall converter you might get high 11's on a good launch
