Re: 82 camaro
Just need a combo that will make plenty of power to the ground(400ish RWHP) and the ability to launch the car. If money is no object, a set of AFR heads with a big cam and a stalled automatic with good gears, just research others combos and see what you like.

Re: 82 camaro
traction is no issue as i run 12 inch wide slicks lol and gears are 4.56 and i was thinking a stall about 4000 about 305 duration on cam and i was gonna have a performace shop port heads and match intake to it they said with a 12.1 ratio i could make about 550 HP at flywheel idk how to figure out how much goes to the rwhp

afr 195's out of the box with a decent cam should get you real close

Re: 82 camaro
heads that flow 295ish or better
23x/24x duration roller cam
11.0+ compression
single plane intake

can make around 425rwhp thru a th400/9" with slicks on a 350.

Re: 82 camaro
just go ahead and do a 400. most likely wont notice a difference at the track.

Re: 82 camaro
I did it with a comp cams 294 solid lifter cam, victor jr intake, Demon 750 carb (which flows about the same as a Holley 825), AFR 195 heads, 10.5:1 compression, 1 3/4 headers with dual 3 inch exhaust, TH400 trans with a 4,000 stall, lower control arm relocation brackets, 4.56 gears and 28x9 slicks. Car weighs 3535 lbs going down the track.

Traction. Keeps the back end of the car from squatting, keeping the tires planted to the pavement.

Re: 82 camaro
i wouldn't use lift bars, get the relocation brackets, good lca's and a torque arm, trick springs are ok, my v6 ones work pretty well
