Didnt think they would fit so well, but at 10 PSI they are still not making a total contact patch on the street, they surely hook better than the 26x11.5s, so i will use the for street business, need to see what the 2 bags of concrete do in the back with these as well, really trying to make the car roll from a dig, pretty card with a manual trans and 4.30s, so the 86 TA will be allot easier, cannot hook that well on motor and i am wanting to hit it with he 150 kit, LOL.

ummm...14.5" on an 8" wheel? wouldn't a better fitting tire at say...16psi or so work better?

Re: 28x14.5x16

The price was right, they fit ok and they are not actually 14.5 inches or i would have not bought them.

Did have to do some BFH mod to keep them from touching the fender well by the LCAs.

Hooks way better than the 26" ET streets, i wonder if lowering to 8 PSi will be even better.

Re: 28x14.5x16

you will likely run into a problem with the tire trying to fold at much less pressure.

Re: 28x14.5x16

That is what i was thinking, but they are LTs, so the side wall is pretty thick, but i dont think my ballz are big enough to find out.

8 is awfully low to go when running it out the back door, it may want to start dancing with you.....

Re: 28x14.5x16

I know, only reason i thought about attempting it was because of the LT configuration of the tire, at 10 PSI, it actually drives very well compared tot he shorter 26" tall ET street that is not a Light Truck tire, still dont think i will try it.

Re: 28x14.5x16

I dont think it is bad as it is, but a 1 inch wheel would surely make them work like they are supposed to, but i dont have any 16x10 third gen wheels.

Re: 28x14.5x16

Is there a lot of difference between the street radial and drag radial, performance wise?

Re: 28x14.5x16

Guess that was kind of an obvious question. What I meant to say was, how much of a difference? I would assume this is to fill the space between a drag radial and plain old radial tires.

Re: 28x14.5x16

i think the only part that's difference is tread pattern.

If you mean as in regular street radial VS drag? If so, the regular radials are just hard in general and that causes traction issues with power as the compound is not designed for high power applications, they are to last and hold up in near any weather condition. The drag radials are street traction oriented, and usually, but not always, hook up at the track, depending on manufacturer and specs.

So, yea, huge difference depends on the tire size and who makes them.
