Went dragging my first time

Man, it was a lot of fun. I was a little disapointed with my times though. I run a best of 16.7 @85mph . Traction was a big problem for me. Should i be running better times at this mph? Please look at my sig and tell me what you think, thanks.

Mods:Hooker Aerochamber 3" exhaust, gutted kitty,
March 2 piece underdrive pullies, smog pump gone,;these two made a very noticable difference.
14x4 K&N open air element filter-the best mod so far
Eibach springs with KYB's all around.
Appearance: Harwood cowl hood, Z-28 wing, painted black(7/20/00)-original color was light blue
*All these mods were made this year
Stock Options:117,000 miles on motor, 5spd, TBI, 305, T-tops
Going to the track this summer, but i'm pretty sure i'm in the 15's now.

Congrats!
It is always fun to go to the track, I love it! Anyway your time look just about right with your mph. If you are spinning too much you can see it by your 60' time. If the time is at 2.00 seconds that is ok but if it is at 4.00 seconds, well that tells you that you need to do some suspension work!
But when drag racing you can never get enough suspension work!
So what was your 60' times?

Good Luck

My 60' time for my best run of 16.7 was 2.799. But my best 60' time out of the 4 times that I raced was 2.34 .The reason i did so bad on 2.34 60' time was i didn't know where the 1/4 mile ends, and i let go of the gas too soon. So i guess i could've done better.

Run a best of 16.7 @85mph with traction problem. Have to try again sometime.

Yea, with a 2.3 to 2.7 60' time I'd say you need some suspension work.
Next time try launching alittle lighter then floor it and keep your tire pressure at 28lbs. That may help the times better.
Can't wait till October when I go back to the track!
Good Luck!
