I need some advise. I have a 91 z28 camaro 5 speed 305tpi car that has headers,no cat and 3 inch exhaust,sfc and lca. i am running low 14's now. i want to beat my dads duster which is running 13.3. i have a tight budget ($600) so i can only do a few thngs this season. I was thinking of ether getting some nitto nt555r tires and lakewood 90/10 shocks up front, or porting and rebuiling my heads, porting intake, 1.6rr, and beehive springs. i do not beleive ether one of my options will get me to low 13's but i want to try. also i do not want to use nitrous even thouth is is the best option if i just want to run fast times, also i do not want to put a 350 in my car because my appartment

is not to happy with motor swaps in the parking lot. thanks for any helpYou're going to be hard pressed to get a 13.3 out of that 305. Especially on a tight budget. You could do every bolt on imaginable with that money and only gain a few tenths. Porting your heads and intake would be a great start, since its only the cost of materials. I would recommend doing a cam swap for your best bang for buck. Nothing to crazy on the stock heads, but maybe a 210 215 duration and around .490 to .500 lift with matching springs. Do a quick search on 305 cams here and you might find what you are looking for.

I suggest you need to remember what the stock 305 runs and to jump 3 or 4 seconds is huge for that 305.Not that it can't be done$$$$$.
You will be hard pressed to put a combo together that will do it, that the stock ecu calibration will run.

thanks for all of the good info. if i was to get a nos5151 kit what else would you guys recommend? also how would I lunch with the nitrous or would i wait tell i'm in a higher gear to activate it?

wot switch and a window switch. put the recommended jetting in it, put the bottle pressure at 900, check fuel pressure, and have fun. to be honest, you really have to have something way off to kill a 305+cid engine with a 50-100 shot of nitrous. basically if you just follow the instructions that come with the kit youll be fine.

Most kits recommended jetting is pretty safe. Mine was 2 jets too rich out the box and I dialed it in with a wideband o2 and some plug checking but mostly wideband and mph at the track.

What is better fogger system or a plate system, also what window stwich would you guys recommend? Would you guys recommend one or two steps cooler plugs?
