1/4mile time on Late 80s vette?

Please don't lock this post. This is a serious question.

Today I raced a late 80s vette ( i could tell by the wheels) and I ate him alive. What do these things run in the 1/4? I'm not sure if it had alum. heads or not.

All TPI Corvettes from 87-91 had aluminum heads. They're rated from 230 HP to 250 HP, going up each year. They can run low 14's to high 13's stock.

And just because you beat him on the street doesnt meant you can beat him at the track. My car runs a lot slower in street trim than race trim, for example.

It doesnt matter where we raced. The point is, we did indeed RACE, and I won Your statement holds truth in only SOME occasions. Ex: if he gave me a half decent race....then yes..there could be a possibility that the outcome could be different at the track. Street or strip, does'nt matter. Why?

I absolutely murdered him . We did it from a roll. He was in the right lane I was in the left. He was a car length ahead of me before we raced, just cruising... and he actually accelerated before I did!!! The guy had a head start. bwhahah
But when I floored it I was in 4th gear at 3k. I blew past him like he was standing still. Not much of a race to tell you the truth . I was going to ask him to pull over and pay for the gas I just wasted on him

He might not have been racing you - I know twice ive had people flex on me and than just fly by me out of no where and later a couple of my friends will say they were braging about how they kicked my a$$( Both times were 5 point slows too ). ohh well each time ive gotten revenge in a real race from a dead start and killed the little **** talkers in front of all of our friends. But if he was congrats on the victory
