Z28 boy,New LS1's are fast, but I dont know about a 4.5 0-60.Maybe a ringer 6spd SLP SS with dragradials and really aggresive driving.GMHTP once got a 12.89 quarter out of one(with one of the best drivers in the world though)and that was probably a mid 4 0-60 but thats not very often.

Mid 5s. No camaro ss does it under 5 seconds without drag radials. The only LS1 that can do that is the C5. Due to the exhaust and cam variances on those cars.

My uncles 90 300zx tt all stock did 5.2 with no traction. Another time, 4.9 stock. This was with a passenger and G-Tech. The reason I posted his times is because he beat a 98 ram air at a light.

You have to remember, a lot of these cars GM gives to magazines for testing might have slightly altered variables not made public at the time of the test. FP, timing, and especially power programmer. They do it all the time. I think it's called something like...false advertising or something

it all depends on whether its auto or stick. The auto Z-28's do 13.9 in the 1/4 and around 5.5 0-60. In one GMHTP issue, in the very back where they have readers rides, some guy did 12.9 with his 6-speed LS1 and all he did to it was a Dynomax Muffler....God i hate how fast they are, lol

A friend of mine just got a 98 LS1 Z28 auto, 2.73 gears. What do those run? I figure high 13's at a tad over 100mph, and 0-60 in mid to high 5's. I drove it and it's Very Quick.

He finally Gteched his car and spun badly in first and let off before the end of the 1/4 mile because he was going to quick but he ran a 5.4 0-60mph and a 13.9 at 97MPh, 94mph corrected. Now remember he let off and started to apply the brakes before the end of the 1/4. He will redo it again. He also figured out he got 19mpg with mostly in town driving. Makes me want to get a 2001 3.23 gear A4 in green...

Even the auto LS1s will run well into the 13s... Buddy of mine has a 98Z A4 w/ 3.23s. Pretty fast for a stock car. We played around some and I believe I was pulling him. He would never line up for a good all out run, always punched it when I tried to get up beside him to line up. Bastard doesn't know how to race...

Anyway, they're pretty quick. I've never seen any better than like a 5.2 0-60 for a LS1 Fbody, most seem to test mid 5s like I said way up there.

The beauty of it all is that a few years from now an LS1 car could be had for a reasonable summ. And than you could "work it" to death. I can't wait.As much as I love 3rdGens, a Hot-Rod is a Hot-rod.
