Manual steering or PS for AutoX

Im Interested in Roadracing/autoX With My Camaro, Not So Much Drag.

My PS Has been out For a while, And Instead of just replacing hte pump I had considerd Going to Manual steering. I really like the stiffer, More absolute feel On the street.

The only Thing is, I dont want to Do something that is going to Make Roadracing Impossible.

What are your Opinions on this ? Any of you Guys using manual steering in the twisties ?

Thanks.

BTW, I would be using an S10 box most likely, unless anyone else has any brilliant Ideas )

To me I'd go with the PS, too many turns with my car and my arms get tired. Plus the s10 box has more turning range.I think it could be dangerous if in a turn you over turned the wheel and couldn't get it straight quick enough. I didn't help much but I though it might help.

Most definately power steering. Two reasons really, first is that manual boxes almost always have slower ratio steering meaning that you have to turn the steering wheel farther to acheive the same motion at the tire. Second is the work required from the lack of power assist You will go faster with PS.

Yes, one more vote for power steering. if you start cranking caster into it, you'll really feel it in the turns. Autocross tracks are normally pretty tight, with an emphasis on tight turns and handling. definitely go power. later on, if you want, you can get a quicker ratio box out of a ws6 firebird or something.
