People with traction problems.....

I get sick of seeing more posts about people having traction probs and they don't even have a set of sticky tires....just plain ole street tires! No matter what kind of suspension you have it will never hook unless you have at least a drag radial! I'm running a set of Nitto 275/40/17 DR's and the car hooks pretty good if they are heated up. Now, if you do have a sticky tire and still have problems, then start working on the suspension.

I just bought a set of 245/50/16 Goodyear Eagle HP's and they hook awesome. I can stall up to 1500 and let off the brake and nail it and not have hardly any spin. I think it makes a huge difference when you have some tires with decent tread. I used to have a set of 245/50/16 Goodyear Eagle VR with hardly any tread and they would spin like no other. Does anyone know the actual answer, is it the tread or the rubber???

It's both the tread and the rubber. Bigger tread patches mean more contact and softer rubber hooks much better. Ever notice on a cool day you can spin them forever but once the tires get hot they seem to hold better.
