question for manual clutch drop
question for manual clutch drop
Is it better to drop the clutch at max TQ or max HP. My freind has a civic so he wants to know which would be faster, he can hook up either way i think.
In our car's, its best to drop it at around 1600rpm. We have enough tourque to pull off the line.
The civic, I'd just drop it from like 7,000rpm, which is pretty much the maximum tourque AND hp point.

The Civic will just stand there frying his donuts away if launched at 7k rpm. 3k is usually good point on these cars. I say this from experience, although the Civic in question was a VTEC Asian trim model. It seems like the VTEC deal comes alive at 3k rpm.

Crappy 700R4 slushbox
Gutted airboxes
180 degree T-stat
Advanced base TPS voltage
Relocated IAT sensor
Momo steering wheel (gotta luv it)
Ram-air setup coming soon
Flowmaster muffler (puke)
Taylor SpiroPro wires
Accel cap and rotor
Ported plenum
Kills: '94 Z28, Olds Aurora V8, bunch of Mustangs, T-birds, ricers, and others who assumed a 12 year-old car would be too slow.
