I'd like to go after my car is finished, but that won't be for a while. When it is done it will have a 383 hopefully super rammed, 3.42 posi rearend, a tremec tko 5 speed, and a suspension upgrade. Meanwhile, I don't wanna wait. I have a bone stock 1983 280ZX that I drive around too. It's one of the funnest cars I've ever driven. It has the I6 a into a 5 speed, and from what I've seen on tech pages it has a 3.90 posi rearend. It's pretty quick. Just wondering how you guys think it would do and if you have any tips for me.

The engine mods to your camaro would throw it into a higher level class. Both cars would be fun, the 280Z might actually handle better than the camaro, it would teach you a little more about finesse.
Engine power is not important for Auto x, suspension set up is totally key.
------------------
84 Z28 L69. 5 speed with 3.73 posi (broken)Ported heads, intake, 10:1 comp. 230/230 .480 lift cam @.050" w/108 LSA
Triumph Spitfire SCCA roadracer. 1.1 liter 4cyl w/ 14:1 comp.
Outcorners anything!

Go here: www.sccaforums.com and search the post archive for something like "what is the best driving advice that you ever heard?"
Also, I have to agree, take the 280Z for your first events. It will teach you alot and once you take your Camaro, you will appreciate both cars more for what they are.
