My car!
My car!
I never post on here but I thought I would share my junk! Car is a 83 trans am. It has been 9.43 @ 151 with a 1.55 60 foot. That was with a 80mm BW turbo. Car has a 355sbc, no intercooler, unported Edelbrock Vic Jr. heads, solid flat tappet cam, CSU blowthrough carb and now it has a GT4788 turbo on it and a Dart Lil M block. It just made 970WHP with 25 pounds on the dyno. The car is not a show car but I have not missed a race season or a cruise season in over ten years. The car including the whole turbo set-up, motor, trans, cage etc was all built by myself and my best friend! Thanks for looking!
Here is a vid of the car on the dyno two weeks ago!

HAHAHA I just read my signature, that tells you just how long it has been since I made a post here. I have had three turbo set ups since I had a nitrous motor in the car!

2 questions......
Does that Giant Knock retard guage ever come in handy? lol
How much fuel pressure does a setup like that flow?

Re: My car!
That is not a knock retard. It is a timing curve retard. It tells me when the msd box is taking timing out of the car once it has built enough boost to do so. The base fuel pressure is 7.5 pounds. There is a 1 to 1 boost reference fuel regulator that adds one pound of fuel pressure for every pound of boost so 25 pounds of boost equals 32.5 pounds of fuel pressure!

Re: My car!
Thats pretty cool. So the MSD box will pull the timing on motor to allow the boost to come in on top of it. Seems fairly simple. I am using an XFI where you basicly lay the whole timing map out on a grid.
Re: My car!
we have nearly identical motor setups... mine is a 358 with unported victor jr heads. 232/236 hydro roller cam, vic jr single plane with efi. its slowly working its way into the car now after sitting in the corner of the shop for 7 years.
what are you running for head gaskets?

Re: My car!
The car is consistent. It consistently runs way slower then it should. We will see what happens this year. I change have changed a lot of suspension stuff and we have far better track prep at our local track now. The down pipe runs under the motor mount. We notched the stock k member and from there the exhaust runs undereath the car like the normal 4" pipe routing!

Re: My car!
That is a huge car show/fun driving event that takes place in Brainerd Minnesota. It is called Powercruise. That was me getting second in the powerskid competition. It is basically a comp to see who can do the longest burnout without hitting the brakes at all. There is also a dyno comp, drifting, streetracing, car show and cruising all on an the Brainerd road course. It was by far the best three days of my life! It happens again this year from July13-15 and I will be there again!
