Post pics of your race day setup.
Truck/trailer, RV/enclosed trailer, Rollback, Whatever. Post 'em up.
Not quite on race day, just bought the trailer and was trying it on for size. Headed to the track, I'll throw a grill, cooler, and air compressor on the flatbed. The trailer is long enough to load a pit vehicle on behind, now I just gotta find one! I'm also looking for a pickup bed camper for weekend excursions.

This is what it looks like on the track:
Imagine it with highway radials on the back instead of the slicks - that's what it looks like on the way to the track.

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
my setup looks exactly like gtamatt's, just swap the dodge for a chevy 2500. i have a new truck that isnt complete yet that will replace the 2500. its a '06 gmc 3500 extended cab with a flatbed. soon, hopefully.
a buddy of mine had a '03 hemi ram that was real quick... had headers/exhaust/cai and a tune. i think it went 8.80's in the 1/8 on a slightly smaller diameter tire. (had 20's) it had the 3.92's in it as well. there was a goofy fuel cut at 95mph or something like that, and you could turn the ignition off and back on and the truck would shoot past the fuel cutoff like you were spraying it. i never figured something like that would work, but it did. it kinda sucked towing though, because it wanted to constantly downshift on the hills around here. didnt have much in the way of ***** down low. upper rpms it had all the power in the world.

Lol mine has headers and all the other normal goodies, and a 216/220 .540 cam... Tows like a dream. 04 and up got improved tcm programming. For the most part, converter stays on lockdown. In tow/ haul mode it automatically downshifts as soon as you touch the brake. And I never had a limiter. The day I bought it it went 115. Its been 100 in the 1/4.

I race street DOT, I have always driven my car to and from the track in the spirit of the class . I also don't like swapping tires at the track, I just like showing up, racing and leaving.
My new street DOT car, mostly stock L98 running mid 14's
My old street DOT car, cammed 350HO crate that ran 12.2's at 111.85 on radials:

If I didn't live 2.5 hrs away from the track, an wasn't still nursing the 10bolt time bomb, I'd probably enjoy driving to the track more often, save a little on fuel too. But I just don't wanna be broke and knowing that in 5 more hours I'll finally be home!

On the way to the track;
@ the track...
Changing out all 4 wheels every time sucks, maybe someday i'll get a flatbed trailer and just haul it there ready to go.

All that driving the car to the track stuff was cool till I broke down a couple times, now...forget that. Lol, if I can tow it you know it. Not too much sucks more than making more than one trip to the track because you broke. Made it enough times to learn.

2750 lbs, ~350ish HP V6. It's in the 13's on street tires, should be 12's on slicks.

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
No trailer for me, the track is about a 20 minute drive on the back roads. I normally take a tool bag, air tank, laptop computer and a couple of lawn chairs to the track in my car. I try to get some friends or family to go so I have another vehicle to put my computer and tools in while in the staging lanes. Its nice and simple that way but having a trailer does have advantages, I'm pretty limited on the tools I take. But at this point I can't justify the cost of a trailer and bigger truck(have a S-10 for daily driving) to pull it to race a few times a year. If I raced more often or wanted to try a a class with season points championship it would be worth it. So far (knock on wood) I've never had to be towed home, and I figure I can afford to be towed home a bunch of times for the cost of a trailer and truck.

1BADRZ28 - 28'? Pop an awning on the side & perfection, IMO.
I don't have any pics of our junk. Currently a 34' 1995 Gulfstream MH & 24' WC Motortrac. Just put money on an '01 31' Winnie Itasca with a super slide, soon as I part with the Gulfstream I'm gonna pick-up a 28' or 30' box & be set.

It came with the tool box and all I did was paint the wheels put new tires from a mobile home yard, fix the brakes and I was good to go.

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
If you travel out of texas, make sure state laws allow single axle brakes. Both axles should have brakes especially in the mountain states and BC in Canada.

Yeah, I hear ya. I believe the brakes are 7000lb rating, their made for a mobile home. The single axle is more than enough. But I don't travel out of Texas.....I race local.

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
I'd swap those axles out ASAP. I wanted to get 8 lug hubs on my trailer so truck and trailer wheels would be interchangeable, but the upgrade was pretty pricey. I'll put them on when it's time to do brakes. I've only had my trailer a month.
I don't think it's too critical to have brakes on both axles tho, especially on something pretty light like that, in WI, you don't even need a plate for anything under 3000 lbs. (Of course, state laws and common sense may require brakes on both axles, ie mountain states)

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
Yep, so I've heard. But that's on the lower end tires. I changed my tires out with better ones, than what's commonly used under the mobile homes. In Texas, there are so many trailers that use these axles/tires....it's pretty common. What's ironic is - it's the "normal" trailers, with the "normal" tires, that I always see with flats on the side of the road. Go figure.

Just imagine a white enclosed trailer with either a 2003 Ram 2500 CTD with custom orange/silver/black paint with black 20" wheels or a ragged 1995 Ram 2500 CTD.

Re: Post pics of your race day setup.
we used to use my 04 sierra 2500hd 6.0 gas truck. my dad bought a 2011 3500hd with the 6.6dmax and ally trans. the 2011 is an absolute beast compared to my truck. it will easily double the mileage of my truck, pulling my 24ft trailer. ive easily out grown the 24ft trailer. as soon as my budget allows ill be looking into a new 30-32ft trailer.
